Do you have a tutorial on how you are doing this? I have been wanting to do this in a game engine. I imagine that you are doing sort of a bin packing/best fit matching for the pieces. I want to buy it just to give me ideas 😀

i don't have any tutorials sorry, but yea its sort of a brute-force bin packing. There could be more optimised ways tho, i think the generation in LEGO Worlds was somehow real-time. Good luck with it!

The bin-packing is all python/numpy code, it's only before/after that needs blender (voxelising, placing bricks etc.)

Is it possible to convert all the instanced bricks into their own objects? I am trying to make something into a Lego build and then effect it afterwards but I cant seem to figure that part out as I cant find the Geometry nodes that make this up. I could export and reimport from LDraw, but I am trying to use custom lowpoly bricks for this

There is a way, but sadly it doesn't keep the brick colours. If you find the 'brickfx_instancer' node group, disable the two 'Set Material' nodes (select them and press 'M') , you can then use the 'Make Instances Real' operator (you can press F3 to search for it or press 'Ctrl A'-> 'Make Instances Real' ) If I find a method that preserves colours, I'll be sure to update the addon. Hope this helps!

How did you manage to create such a large and detailed ladscape within Blender? - is it a part of the legolizer function, compositing or through an incredible engine for such an incredible mind?
