Changy excellent video, I am looking to go on price from day works. How does money work do I get paid from subby and pay the lads in the gang? Or Subby pays the lads in my gang? A little confused cheers

I really want to know how to form a 1:1 or 2:1 gang and how to approach subbies on site and whats the process from there? You quote them? Or they just put you on a plot and pay you what you complete via a time sheet? Or how and to whom do you submit a tender to a principle contractor if you wanted to form your own sub contractor gang? Who do you approach? The site agent?

@changy good video. So much easier to book in now. What prices do you lot get for footings? Trench block/4" block etc. Always on supers. Reckon I'll save my back and get back on supers at this rate.
@Changy_C3 жыл бұрын
We aren't on footings mate, they are getting £1.80 trench £15m2 100mm , 50p common, £2.50 lintels

I am glad I am out of the new build sector, things don't change its still a battle to get what you are really owed, I bet so many gangs don't get what they are entitled to

What do you do if the job has lift prices instead of a measure?
@Changy_C4 жыл бұрын
Ask what prices they have based the houses on. Just say if it's 550/15 do the count as usual, put it into the spread sheet to keep a record from start to finish of what you do, when you top out you will have the exact quants you have laid and the price for the house should match up with what was agreed. Obvs you will have to put in provisional sums for DPC, trays, lintels, wall plate and any extras like soldier courses or BOE over sailors etc, you should ask what price they are paying you for these as they will have included these into the lift prices. If you top out and the measure works out low on price they are ripping you ff and you have done all the extras for £0. You won't know until you have built the first one but you need to do it start to finish

Thanks for another upload. What about insulation. I know a lot of new builds blow it in but what if you have to do it yourself. Either wool or hard back?
@Changy_C4 жыл бұрын
Years, if you have to do it you want a m2 price for it. I know gangs that only do rigid board on commercial jobs and make a killin from it.

Cracking idea, however you formula in you total box is wrong, as when you dropped you block price etc the total didn't. Excel on a phone is a nightmare and very complicated, on a laptop with your missus formatting it for you is a piece of piss 🤣 Can see where a lot of gangs could be sold short on the work and Excel should help out with the site agent's accidental blindness

@@Changy_C wasn't knocking you, I know how excel can be a pain in the arse at the best of times and its a twat on the phone unless you are a total academic neard.
