I’m 35 years in stonemasonry.Ive been contracting on my own for 20 and “off the tools “for around 15.I was a really good stonemason,but the people I worked for were always drunken morons,and made contracting look way harder than it is.I did it my own way and have succeeded.Young people learn a trade,get very good at it,make yourself valuable,be reasonable and responsible,then the sky is the limit.Keep on throwing them in!!!!!

High can I ask is the large gauging style trowel any benefit? I’ve seen the Dutch Brickie using them. And there on timber kits. I know they use a swan neck, but the blades the same. Also are the concrete bricks? Great video. 👍🏻

Ozzy am Scottish price work brickie constantly on kits ..get them to stick the windows in helps …use thr kit drop the odd plump Line mark your line with a pen for returns and openings save you plumbing every reveal with a level …it’s a different system but once you get used to it second. Nature you can get your 750/1000 a day ..there is a load of we differences wee tips here and ther help ..always go to window hights never doors …the rail track the fire bags I know it’s all a pain in the arse ..am not patronising just trying to help with spirits stay motivated ser …..notch your brick with a grinder and snap them do about a 100 half’s in 5 minutes run …..I’m a 1/1 aim for 4000brick a week I’m paid £650 solid through windows and doors plus I get the odd sundry for fire bags dpc aprons vents ..tie down straps ….70/30 split between me and my labourer he pre loads my kits ties with nails and does the pointing.

Nice stack bond that 👍 Good idea with the 2 bricks and half for the metre box lintel’s aswell. I always cut a piece timber to brace the lintel but i think ill be pinching that method moving forward

When I was a kid ( slater apprentice) older other journeymen used to say being a brickie was one foot in the grave . Very hard freezing body damaging trade , and boring af
