Hi Stu, have you ever come across a boot-lintel? I think that's what I was told they were called... I've seen one attempted to be removed and replaced by a steel beam and it looked tricky to get out.. the reason I ask is I have one above a window in my own house and wanting to replace with doors ( which I already have) but the door width is 2 inches wider than the window..... Basically looking for advise as to weather I could just leave the lintel in and cut down an inch either side of the window? If that makes sense... Or if it's just going to be easier to just acro floor joists above window inside and brickwork outside and replace the whole thing... 🤔😕 Thanks for any help mate!!

Interested to know why two cuts on the left hand existing wall has been made? To create a cavity. And on the right hand side one cut has been made with some dpc inserted. Please can any one explain the reason behind this? Why not just place the wall starter ties? Interested to know the reasoning behind that. And why on the right side did the wall ties only go half way up? (Not criticizing, just wanting to understand and learn) Thanks 👍
