@IanR12055 жыл бұрын
Yes I admit it, I embellished the amount of buildings made of brick in the UK. It just didn’t seem as funny to say “a large proportion” or “90%” so I went with “every single”. I apologize if anyone took offense to my generalization about buildings in the UK. If nothing else at least it got an interesting conversation about a fascinating topic going: How many buildings in the UK are made of bricks? We might never know. Some scholars maintain every single, but I’m skeptical of that claim now.

Hi youtube, ex-brickalyer here : This is what an experienced bricklayer looks like. It's axtually quite hard to be fast/smooth like he is and lay your bricks at the right angle and with the right force. The secret is in the mortar. If it's too liquid your brick will drown/will be soaky as hell and your joints are going to be ruined. If your mortar is too dry you will need a hammer to lay your brick and that will ruin the 3 layers underneath. And on top of that if you lay too much/not enough mortar you will do a messy job or will constantly be correcting every bricks you lay. Great job overall :)

@DeckerBens well, you know that's stupid, because the phone will crop it to horizontal or vertical, causing your fix to be useless
@akeiai5 жыл бұрын
@DeckerBens this is stupid if you look closely. There would be unused sensor space because it's cropping the camera horizontal and vertical sizes. there would be an unused square sensor area on the four corners of the sensor(camera cropping). A 1:1 aspect ratio camera is retarded, cost inefficient, and wasteful of space. Why do you think DSLR and mirrorless cameras use 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratio sensors? It's because it's not wasteful and it is adapted on the camera industry. I have ripped out a camera sensor on my old point and shoot camera and this is what I see. A 4:3 camera sensor. Also, the industry is not susceptible to change. People are getting wider and wider screens as you're reading this. Film industry uses 2.xxx:1 aspect ratios today as I said people want their movies to fit on their TV. Not to mention film cameras often capture at this aspect ratios. Photographic imagery has a long history that you cannot change instantly due to the nature of other industry forming it(display technologies), and the low cost of creating a sensor due to the fact that we perfected it. Not to mention 1:1 is fucking terrible and should be used only in artistic purposes. There would be no better solution than just flipping your fucking phone 90°. Phones are designed to be holded vertically and videos are designed to be watched horizontally, that is the reason why this problem exists in the first place

(The following does not constitute engineering advice). If you have a scaffold to deliver the bricks and mortar at waist level, you can lay on the order of 350 an hour versus 125 an hour when you have to bend over. Frank Gilbreth introduced the non-stooping scaffold more than 100 years ago. Henry Ford also said no job should require anybody to bend over because it is tiring and motion-inefficient.
