Nice work but for a coping the bricks will soak up water and the frog will expand so it’s not got much life expectancy.i nearly lost a guild of bricklayers competition through not filling the frogs on the standard brick on edge.they will turn green after a few years of weathering.

Lovely work mate. Was just wondering though. I’m surprised you didn’t fill the frog aswell before you layed them frog down just to make sure they were all full and compact with the muck so there’s no where for water to build up

If you watch closely I was putting extra piles of mortar in the frog position on the bed 😉

and an adhesive either side of the muck....its usually the difference between not been able to pull one off if you tried and just knocking one off by simply leaning against it

The days were cold. It was in the shade. So I pointed on a fresh day. All filled by 9am so I had plenty of day light to finish them 😁

I was just trying a different method. Americans do it that way so I gave it a go. The bags are awesome. Mortar gun needs filling more frequently I think. Mortar needs to be the right consistency 💯

A little tip - fold over the top of the bag when you’re filling with mud . It makes it more Rigid (Oi-Oi!) and easier to fill. Love the birds-beak special tricky flair 👍
