Hey Brendan, you could read in the documentation. Actually, this plugin is very powerful and worth every penny. You could create your own collection of plugins or things you have developed yourself and make it available inside of Bricks, for example. The color tab isn't needed for what you have tried there, but you can use the two tabs like some other widgets do. As you were dealing with content, any coloring makes no sense at all.

yeah no doubt, i'm sure its worth way more than the listed price, honestly! it seems super powerful, and i expected nothing less from Daniele. you're right, i should probably read the docs more. just wanted to show at the very least the low barrier for entry into creating something like this as I had no idea it could do this so easily and i'm not a plugin developer by any stretch. i may have to look into buying a license to see what all i can teach myself. how do you like it?

@@BrendanOConnellWP I respect that you wanted to show the options and keep it at a low barrier. Personally, I think it's important to learn/know things, before you can teach it. This is my personal claim. Unfortunately, there aren't a bunch of tutorials for WP Monkey yet, so I would like to see more of it. I'm always searching for things like that to inspire myself with new ideas or learn from others. I'm not a fancy coder myself, but I am good at HTML/CSS, which could help to achieve things and convert this into a widget inside of Bricks. Think of reusable things you have created such as a card grid or any other thing you want to have as a widget. This could be handy to boost your projects.

@@PicSta absolutely agree that one should be more familiar with a tool to teach it - many of my vids are me using a tool, sometimes w/o much experience, because there are no/few good videos on a tool. so, not exactly a 'teacher' per say (though i can and have 'taught' some subjects) nor can i demo all complex usecases, but hopefully enough to show people how something works, and spark their creativity. i appreciate your comments

@@BrendanOConnellWP keep your attitude, mate. You are going down the right path. You take guts to jump into something new and explore it. This is something good, and stay curious. Maybe you can do a “deep dive” video any time later, in case you know more.

@@PicSta cheers, thanks for your kind words 😊

You have to put class="{{styleWrapper:class}}" in the html of whatever you want the style tab to control or else it isn't linked to anything.

thanks for the tip! appreciate your comments. i am excited to try it out more soon hopefully

it is neat that this can be done but I feel that making a template section is a better option. Don't like that there is no access to the element items in the structure panel. Either way, thanks for sharing.

I totally agree, no need to add additional plugins for most anything in bricks! this was just a fun vid to show the low barrier for entry into making your own element. might spark someones creativity as it did mine. i'm guessing a huge portion of Bricks users build stuff with divs/blocks and text/buttons/svgs etc and already dont use 90% of the available elements anyway
@brianweberfilm10 ай бұрын
You make the element your self. It's 100% up to you what you have control of.

yeah seems super powerful!

i loved the video but could you help me by making a video on how to create an element to display lottie files. no one on youtube has made a youtube video on this even though it's a problem that many people encounter.
@BrendanOConnellWP8 ай бұрын
there are a couple available lottie elements i believe. but you're wanting one that you make from scratch? ill add it to the list of things to check out
