It took me 18 hours to build the car but when I finished I wished I did it much slower, It is the process that I enjoy. I sat in front of the table for 18 hour and barely moved, no eating nor drinking, totally forgot anything else. Now 210 € is gone and I’m saving for Hogwarts castle.

Amazing kit and build video. Although, I would have liked to have seen the builder demonstrate the movement of some of the sub-assemblies like the engine and gearbox, as they were completed and before they were covered up. That would have been cool. The only bad part about this kit is that it doesn't seem much like "Lego" to me, as it was originally intended. Very few pieces are put together with the actual Lego interlocking "bumps". Almost the entire model is held together with the Technic pins and axles, which overall makes for a more flimsy model. Also with the amount of engineering and detail that went into this, it would have been nice to see things like more correct suspension design. Porsche uses a McPherson strut-style front suspension, instead of the double wishbone style used in this kit. I'm sure it was easier to design the assembly and pieces using double wishbones up front, but still, it should have been made true to the actual car.

A great video. Cleared doubts about the Lego build process. Building the Lego Technic model could make one aware about why cars are built the way they are. The travel of the suspension play is an example. By the way, I wonder if one could get a manual which is not in English, which would be a nightmare for me, if I buy one.

They are making a lot of cars now. Have you seen their speed champions series? Some old stuff and new. They have a ferrari gto, and a senna. The newest one is the older mustang, which you can build in two designs. Their really getting into cars. Very happy about it too! I hope to see a gt bmw one day as well!

So does the PDK Transmission work? I've heard that it does not function properly due to the amount of friction in the gearbox. Others say that it works if you switch two steps in the building process for it to work properly. Surely this couldn't have slipped through LEGO's entire reviewing team. Otherwise that would be disappointing if such a key feature does not work on a $300.00 model that has been introduced to us with so much hype and marketing.

For those of you thinking about getting this set, only get it if money is not an issue. Even then, I feel like it's a huge ripoff. The book is actually only that thick because the instructions are HEAVILY over-simplified, not because there's a ton of unique content regarding the car. The set also doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Does it strive to be a display model or does it want to packed full of technic features? Considering the price tag it should be both, and yes it looks amazing, but the functions leave very little to be desired. The suspension is laughably basic and the transmission that is focused so heavily on hardly works. Sure it can shift but all it changes is the speed at which the engine/cranks rotate (WHICH YOU CAN'T SEE). On top of that there's so many gears that the transmission never spins smoothly and makes an awful rattling noise when you wheel the car around.

+turtlehater2 In Jang's review, his fix for the instructions makes you change 4 gears, while Sariel's only has you change 2. So Jang's solution must work better cuz his works absolutely perfect.
