Something to consider would be adding some advertising to the large brick walls of buildings like the expanded corner garage. It would add interest to the city and be reminiscent of when ads were painted on the sides of buildings. It could be done using modified bricks with side studs and large tiles with stickers or just plates with tiles like the billboard on the Grand Emporium.

I like the new city layout but i think the skyscrapers kinda block the view behind them. I know there's not much that can be done about that though.
@seanoates6789 Жыл бұрын
I've been a bit sceptical around some of your changes recently, including some of the new skyscrapers and was very sceptical when you pulled everything out of your city, but you have done an amazing job already and it holds together so much better now and feels much more 'real'. Can't wait to see it full of life and stories and like that you have left the train in situ for now. Fabulous work Jordan.
@louislambert7850 Жыл бұрын
yeah I don't like the shape of some skycrapers too but overall it looks better like that
@ricardomatias6540 Жыл бұрын
One suggestion: You could also use the pillar of the room to make some sort of skyscraper, so that it blends with the city ;) Think about it, and keep up the great work! ;)
@louislambert7850 Жыл бұрын
that's what I'm thinking for two years now, maybe the train could even fit inside the building
@eyvindurs.myhren4315 Жыл бұрын
What if you make "waterframes" around the two tableholes and make it two small lakes? I think that that would make more sense explaining why there's nothing there rather than just two voids which the city sorta wraps around. It would make them features of the city rather than just obvious tableholes. "Two Ponds City" has a nice ring to it as well 😀😢

You should remove the yellow train, and replace it with a tram, makes much more sense than if it's close to the houses.

Have you ever thought about making some pedestrian only zones? Like many european cities are? So you can get rid of some of the asphalt. Would look good around the sesame street house area.
@cas3157 Жыл бұрын
Agree. This new layout would do perfectly with pedestrian road.

love the new layout! Now that your skyscrapers are together, you could place the UP house in there somewhere just like it was in the movie.

I actually really love what you've done with this rebuild! Love the way all the buildings are oriented in different directions and the natural incline of height. I've noticed that you've been pretty pationate about this project. Glad to see the joy it brings you!

I think it’d be sweet if the raised train line didnt go down a street, but between the backs of the modular building on opposing streets.

Nice refresh!!!! This seems a bit more natural cityscape. The street changes seem to allow that open feel. Good video too. Thanks

Changing the grid is fine, but the problem I see is that quite a lot of these buildings is now hidden. Personally I liked the first city layout when you installed the new tables the best. I like this one as well, but I don't think these buildings are getting the view they deserve

I feel like its not bad what he has going on right now. Should probably spread out all tge taller buildings so you can look through them and see towards the back

Like the new layout. It makes sense that the residential area is near the beach and zoo and campground. The reconfiguring of the train lines and stations will be challenging. One step at a time. It gives you more things to do, which makes it fun!

The new layout is excellent. It is way more immersive having the small groupings of buildings and it puts us more in the action! You should film from a stepladder sometimes so we can get an overview look once in a while 👍🏼

Love the compromise of Daigon alley bring more exposed so we can see it but still sort of hidden. And the layout makes sense with the buildings getting bigger as you get closer to the sky scrapers. I still think you should have the ground line go all the way over to the back and down by the campground and zoo. It would be so much work but so cool that the residential area could commute downtown. To save on Railroad pieces, you could move the ground line to the other side of the amusement park which would have the added benefit of being able to use both sides of the Studgate station station. Because I love that station but it doors take up an awkward amount of space. So much work though…

I love that you're doing this, Jordan. The residential buildings definitely make more sense all grouped together. I also like the smaller blocks that you made. For those of us that watch your videos everyday, it may take awhile for us to get used to the new layout. I think you should have the bike lane going along the back of the bike shop and those other beach front buildings. It would make sense to me. As always, I look forward to seeing the upcoming changes you will make!

I think the Black and White skyscraper has got to go, at least until it gets more detail. It sticks out like a sore thumb between all the other more detailed buildings, and takes away from being able to see other MOCs instead.

I like that new layout. I know it will take a lot of work to get everything back in a polished stayed. My two suggestions would be to leave room for gringotts bank and perhaps put something in the residential area that blocks the view of the hole from your diagonal "money shot"

Suggestion for black & white building - I think bottom floors should be all black then white floors on the top! With the mix and match I don’t think that’s realistic at all 😂 but the color blocking of black on bottom white on top would be good contrast! 😊

Visually for me it’s distracting with the every other & builders I don’t think would do every other, but if you do a few floors black then white I think it can be stunning!

I think the layout is very good,i am telling you these things in order to make perfect at my opinion 1)change the position of bowling alley you can hardly see it there 2)its ugly to see the back of corner garage tall building,change it in order to see the front 3) the combination gas station downtown diner and spring latern festival doesnt work and 4)bring the lower buildings in front and the skyscrapers more behind.

Good evening. Just a few thoughts from me. When I was a little girl we had trams in Copenhagen in the inner city. Maybe you could use this idea for your city, if you didn't think the train should run around. Maybe you could use the one that comes with it The Holiday Main Street. Namely the one trolley, which is included in that set. After that, you can build the other wagons yourself afterwards. Good luck. Greet the lady and your lovely children. hugs from Birthe Denmark

I love the views you can get now with the new street layout, especially the street going up to the fire brigade; love how that looks; it's cozy and feels like a place I'd want to walk around in. But imo the skyscrapers really take away from the city. They block so much and I'm just not a fan of those big blocky buildings. I would personally move the skyscrapers to the back as much as possible (then of course they'll be blocking the raised platform a fair bit, but honestly; they already are doing that right now). But of course it's your city and if you are happy with it; that's all that matters. 😁

You could replace the ground train with a one that looks like a tramway. Then it makes more sense that it passes in front of the residential buildings.

Really nice new layout that gives some dimension as well. I am just not convinced by the placement manor (Monster Fighter) though. I think it looks great next to the Fisherman's shop and if you have, the Hidden Side Shrimp Shack Attack (70422) (at least that is how I was planning on putting them, putting the manor on a cliff across from the Fisherman's shop and Shrimp Shack Attack). It would also be great in the residential area with some of the Halloween figures from the Lego Store (for instance accross the Mc Allistar's house)! Keep on bricking!👱
