I want to thank my friend Daniel, who not only held the tea cup but also helped me film the final part of the video at his house. Another big thanks goes to Buwizz, who supplied me with these amazing Bluetooth battery boxes for this project. Check them out here: buwizz.com/ This video took way too much time to make, but I wanted to build “The Lego Tank” we all dreamed of making as kids. At least, that was my intention. What turned out instead is an overengineered beast with too many mechanisms that failed frequently-especially the shooting mechanism, which took me over a year to build and failed a lot while filming. That’s why I hesitate to make instructions for my builds. I nearly broke my fingers trying to put the parts back together! Anyway, thanks for watching and reading. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! And please, don’t destroy pictures of your mother-in-law.

I watch you build and wonder how quickly your mind really interprets the needed changes and how long they actually take. The best youll get is instructions. Which you can (meticulously) copy from the video. With cheap bricks (The motor bricks will never be cheap, 20$ minimum for each) you can anticipate a full build to cost roughly 800 dollars on the low end. And 3000 on the high end. Depends where you source your parts, if you care about Lego purity or not, and if you are okay with secondhand motor parts.

@pauldeddens5349
@pauldeddens5349 Ай бұрын
@@John_Smith_86 Alot of those are not things too applicable to Lego however. Lego consists of 1-3 materials, mostly ABS. Legos cannot be water-tight and are assembled via friction based interlocking, which means aerodynamics and fluid dynamics are kind of meaningless at higher speeds where they become more important, the parts would just sheer off. And thermodynamics doesnt really apply since these mechanisms dont run off of combustion reactions or the like, but simple electricity. Maybe if there was a solar panel, but thats still a weak demonstration that would only show power consumption metrics. Without bricks being airtight, you cannot meaningfully make a combustive system or measure it. Potentially with the pneumatic tubes, but thats been done already.

I feel more in shock than anything else watching this, like the gearboxes and complex inner workings is a mental flashbang. How on EARTH does one figure this level of complexity out???

Sadly too dangerous for kids... The motors are from a 3rd-party manufacturer because they are too powerful for the official Lego brand. But it would be a clever idea to publish or sell his assembly instructions.

@@VincentBounce I understand why of course, especially with the added oomph of steel projectiles. Might be some Legal limitations on selling instructions for it too, not sure.

@@VincentBounce Nope all those motors are made by Lego, the black ones are from the old early 2000s 9v system RC cars and the others are Power Punctions

nvm they have the gray version of those buggy motors not made by lego but if you swap them with the original you would have similar performance

If you went to a television content provider and said "lets make a 20 min lego build video " they would laugh, but here we are 2 million views in 3 weeks. Perfect camera work,lighting, continuation and storyline editing. Well earned views.

I love the idea of the turret being able to raise and lower, expanding its range of elevation and lowering its storage profile for transport. Legitimately something I can see being experimented with on real-life tanks
