@@phoenix1045 No, it wouldn't. I saw Frusciante's guitar die in the middle of a concert and guess what, the show went on. Do you really think his supporters wouldn't have understood if a few marbles had been spat out? He is free to do whatever he wants but most, like me, see that he lost sight of what his project was; a cool machine that makes music with marbles. If just making music was his goal then MIDI would have sufficed and could play his music without missing a single note. We never even got to see a demonstation of what MMX could do in video form like the video of his wooden prototype back in the day. He got wrapped up in 'self-help' books, quoting Elon Musk and trying to 'optimise his workflow', ultimately deciding it was better to give up and start a new project rather than accept minor flaws. That is why his latest videos have a miniscule amount of views compared to his older ones. It was a great shame and I'm not alone in thinking that. At some point, good enough has to be good enough, any recording musician knows this otherwise you never finish anything. Live musicians know that better still.

This guy is a straight up genius, ill argue with anyone who says otherwise. How can you be this smart and creative?...I’m jealous, my energy, patience and attention span would instantly crap out on me if I tried anything even 1% as complex as this, some people just got given a good brain, and I’m very jealous.

It’s essentially set up like A music box so to speak, but I enjoyed every song that played on it and I loved the rhythm and the quickness of how all the different drum pieces could play on that thing, and how well orchestratedly it was put together. Not only was it an impressive build to me, but the way you made it play the music in the way that it did, was awesome on top of that.

Have you ever seen those mobile fairground/carnival organs? The ones that play the drums, wind instruments, and percussion? Those are pretty amazing too, and they work on a similar principle, but use rolls of paper with cutouts in place of the lego belt and pins this creation uses. Funny thing is - that's exactly how computers used to be programmed - a set of cards with holes hand-punched into them to act as the 1s and 0s of the program.

this is really cool. they really have added a lot of neat parts to the technics line since i was a kid (most of my [still sorted, lol] lego collection is circa late 80's and 90's; just before first mindstorms came out). it also makes me really happy to see that because for a long time in the 2000s-2010s i remember being saddened at the increase of highly set-specific parts in kits (instead of creative use of generic parts). i think the last technics set i ever purchased was the 8880 (which was amazing). might be time to modernize my collection!
