As many comments pointed out, the license plate P51 AK2 is also a play on Mike Psiaki's last name. Second after the P51 AK1 from the Beetle seen in the video! Seems like this set will be wildly successful :)

Other than than that there is a unofficial reason why it's that number plate.there is a legendary ww2 airplane called the p51 mustang , so that's a nice touch

I got a mint 68 Mustang from my Dad when I was 17. I kept it for 36 years until I gave it to my son who now has it and will pass it down to his child. This LEGO Set is a must for our family! I can’t wait!

The ‘BAD 5926’ plate is a New South Wales (NSW) plate, the Australian state of which Sydney is the capital city. The Mustang has translated beautifully in Lego form...hats off to to the design team!

Good catch! I think it is a wordplay between Psiaki and P51 the plane because the Mustang really has connection to that aircraft.

And I just found out that one of Mike's earlier models, the Volkswagen Beetle, has a plate that says P51 AK1 - Psiaki. Second easter egg in sequence from him then and the P-51 Mustang reference seems to be a cherry-on-top coincidence :)

Fantastic build. Very simple and laid out. I did a chapter a day to make it last longer. Had to order parts from Lego because they sent me the wrong pieces, but overall, it was fun and easy and the finished product looks great.

Mike Psiaki, I love all his sets. My favorite is the Saturn V, but a very underrated one is the Blue power jet, the best Lego plane in my opinion. Edit: Just realized that this set and the Jet almost have the same color scheme, maybe Mike did that on purpose?

10:38 The car in the sticker is actually the same kind of Charger from the movie, the headlights are just turned off. The car has flip-around headlights. So when the movie Chargers lights are turned on, the two corners of the grill will flip around and reveal the 4 round headlights.

A great review. The moment the e-mail arrived from Lego VIP with this announcement I literally gasped. Problem is I live in a country that doesn't accept VIP points, so I was torn about getting it shipped from the US. The next day I went straight to my local Lego store and asked when it would be out. The attendant (who knows me well by now considering I have all the cars except the Ferrari, London Bus, and Beetle) said I was the 5th person to ask in the same day. No sooner had he said it than another guy walks in and asks about it. Everyone's hot for this model, which I'm sure is easily the best Creator car to date. Gotta free up shelf space to put this up!

the car on the mirror sticker actually IS a 1968 dodge charger with the headlights engaged. the '68 and '69 has headlights that flipped back into the front of the car

The number plate that has the vertical NSW then BAD 5296, is an Australian plate for the state of New South Wales.

1:42 Clearly not a Muscle Car, it is a pony car, that is reconigzed by coupe-ish styling containg a maximum of 2 doors, a long hood and a short deck finishing with a reasonable price tag. Muscle Cars are rough said family compatible sedans with a huge engine upgrade. The benchmark for that class is the Pontiac LeMans GTO, later on GTO only.

Nah the rear view mirror in the lego set do look more like the 68 Charger. That Dodge headlights have a clever mechanic that hides them to make that iconic one piece grill.

It's not a 2 in 1 set. It has a few add ons to change up the style and look. A 2 in 1 you can usually create something totally different.
