What Dr Patrice said is the reality of the nightmare businessmen faced in their decision to whether invest or not to invest as he rightly pointed out that investment is for long term. Why? In a democracy country, most of the time, the government keeps changing from the right to the left to the central or vice versa, ie there is no assurance of consistency in policies especially regarding business or investment.

I would agree with the need for government to interact more with the private sector, to a level where both work together for a common purpose which is to Increase GDP and facilitate growth of local businesses to allow them to thrive here and abroad. But I would caution this approach. It is a risky one when we talk about the political interference that the private sector may have in our governing system. Eg some countries (which I'd rather not mention) are highly influenced by the private sector, not that SA is not but I'd argue that it's at a lowerlevel than other. The influence of the private sector may be very strong and can lead to undemocratic approaches adopted by our government, so much so that the will of the people is disregarded and rather the will of the private sector is pushed more and at the detriment of the people.

This man and his ANC associates along with his brother-in-law Cyril Ramaphosa are both the calculated destruction of ESKOM, and its saviour. Let me explain in brief. African Rainbow Energy and Power (AREP), backed by South African billionaire Patrice Motsepe is a leading renewable energy platform, the largest shareholder in the SOLA Group and energy consortium. The past and present electricity crisis in our country has been masterminded by these two ruthless and brutal money mongers along with their colluding associates.

Lead balloon alert: Empowerment of ordinary people will come at the EXPENSE of business people. Profit is the mantra. Paying people a living wage contradicts private sector. The naivety of business AND Government is a huge surprise. If a business wishes to compete globally, the labour costs present a challenge not to be underestimated. The profit margins are what determine the viability of an internationally trading, listed company. Fair pay is not in a businessman's actual vocabulary. Personal enrichment versus community upliftment. Stop talking nonsense Dr Patrice.
