Here's something you need to know about the Child's Play franchise before you go any fervor. From what I understand after Cult of Chucky 2017 there was a lawsuit over rights for the first movie. The from what I understand from what happened is the one that. Wrote the screenplay for the first movie got the rights to it back. So that means he has the right to original story that bring Charles Lee Ray buts his soul into dolls body. This is important because from what I gather. Both he an the movie studio could use a good guy doll. This is why previous part is important that's why Childs Play 2019 is a reboot. Because that particular movie studio lost the right to original story. So they had to start over so Chucky is no longer Charles Lee Ray in a doll body. So they have a story that makes it a electronic toys that goes wrong. In it because they lost the right to original story from the first movie and his backstory. Its kinda similar to what happined to the Friday the 13th. Movie franchise last year I believe in December. The original writer of the original screenplay for the first movie. Was in a legal battle for years basic Rundown by law the contract. This goes for most of the movies made in the 80s. After 30 years after movie is first released the original screenwriter for the movie. If they passed away a surviving family member can request and get. The rights to their or their family members creation back. If they sent a formal letter requesting those rights be return to them. The movie studio has to give them the rights back immediately. Because by legal law of the contract it reverts back to the original screenplay writer or any surviving family members if they passed away. But after all those years Court rule in the screenwriters favor for Friday the 13th. He ended up getting all the rights to that movie franchise. Everything that was based off his original movie so he has rights to the name Friday The 13th and Jason Voorhees anything in her first movie she owns it. All the movie studio got was the rights to a image of a guy in a hockey mask. Because they added that in a later movie in which the judge ruled. The movie studio did not have permission to use my name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. So its a similar situation to a Chucky movie franchise lawsuit. Because if a movie studio Wants to Move Along on their own. They have to start from scratch with a full on reboot. Because all they have is the rights to an image of a guy in a hockey mask. They cant use the name Jason Voorhees any longer. On their own so they would have to come up with a new name and a new backstory for the hockey mask killer. That's what they had to do in thr Child's Play 2019 reboot for the same reason. Because the movie studio did not have the original screenwriters permission to use the backstory any longer. And since they have the rights to it if they say no they don't have permission they can't use it. Thats why this is important information going fervor because now you have a Chucky TV series. Wich follows the original backstory so that means original screenwriter for the first Child's Play movie is behind it. There is even a battle going on but a similar for the rights to Predator movie franchise. 30 has passed base set Fox movie studios and Disney movie studios. A formal letter requesting the rights to their creation back. That being the first Predator movie let's just say Disney is not a nice company. They ignored them they are doing dirty legal sneaky stuff to keep the rights. Let's just say Disney claims to be a family-friendly company. But behind the scenes they are getting sued left and right all at once. Because they are not following contract law by not paying people what they are legally obligated to by contract. Then Doing underhanded sneaky things to try to hold onto movie rights that they don't legally own by contract law. I figured I would let you know some of the behind-the-scenes movie stuff that actually. Happenes to some of the movie franchises that you watch. To try to explain why some of the movie franchises suddenly shift gear. It's probably because someone new got the rights to that movie franchise. Then some of it maybe someone got only one part and decided to continue with that movie. If it sounds like I'm putting hate on Disney I kinda am. I mean they seriously buy things. knowing they accept the legal and contract obligations of the previous contracts. Then they ignorable previous obligations all together. Then go it's not us that owes you the money go after the previous owner. When they buy the company an anything contained In that company. Knowing that they have to honor the previous active contracts. So basically the movie business is full of technicalities like this an it effects the movies. But not many people pay attention to this kind of stuff. But its kind of important to know about if you like and enjoy movies. Because stuff behind the scenes like this does affect what you see on screen. Because explains how movies suddenly shift from one thing to something completely different.

I I know it seems kind of complicated but that's why. I brought the lawsuit about Friday the 13th and the results of the Court's ruling. Because from my understand it's similar to what happen in the Child's Play movie franchise. With Only exception of the doll thats why Chucky appears in the movie Ready Player One. Even though it's made by different movie studio that made the Child's Play movies. Then the reason I mentioned Disney's dirty dealings. Is because that's how all this stuff happenes in the first place. Because someone tries to hold onto a movie franchise who has no legal right to. But then if a judge determines they were wrongfully withholding it. Then it goes back to its rightful owner. The one that wrote the screenplay for the first movie or created the character. If they died any surviving family members it can screw things up and change things. Case in point the Disney show the Falcon and Winter Soldier. Why do you think Disney wrote out Captain America. That is because the person that created him and several over Marvel characters. His family is suing for rights for those characters. Because Disney did not uphold any contract regarding those characters. Along with enough time has passed for them to get those back .So by combining the Falcon and Captain America. Its whole new character and they can keep the Captain Americas sheld an things In their rights. Because it's not Captain America thats why they killed of Ironman. Because he's one character they are also being sued over. The court system is a upholding these contract rules. So movie studios are losing license rights to things now. So that's why I explained how this rights for movies and things work. Because it affects everything relating to that character or movie franchise in every way.
