Remember when Surreya delivered his overnight bag to the weekend picnic where he went with Emir and Begum: he said he feels guilty that his son will not have a normal life with his parents , meaning Begum and Farouk. He feels he’s guilty forever that Begum left etc . If the translation is correct because sometimes the subtitles don’t make sense. And now Farouk feels the fragile bond with Emir is going to be disrupted because of Can. I always felt that his eyes showed that any time his emotions could be rekindled with Begum- despite the feelings he has for Surreya who filled a void after Begum and rekindled his joy in life .

Facts!! There was no misunderstanding, she flat out told Sureyya that she still had her eyes set on Farouk. And then tried to clean it up by saying she’d never expect anything from a married man. She thought they were getting divorced and that’s when she was gonna swoop in on Emir’s coattails and try to win Farouk back. What she didn’t expect was for Sureyya to tell Farouk and for him to clear the air and let her know what’s what. Like Farouk said even if Sureyya didn’t come back it could still never be a ‘them.’ A misunderstanding wouldn’t have had her in tears or on the defensive. And I think Farouk knew she wasn’t telling the truth about the conversation, her implication to Sureyya and her feelings for him and what she was hoping for. Glad he set the record straight.

I thought Esma couldn’t sink any Lower- but she did ! She moved family dinner to Begum’s house but didn’t invite Sureyya.
