As a US army veteran who served, I'm so disappointed.. I can see that this so fake.. How can someone know what it's like to be away from family and friends.. This clip makes me so mad 😡.. To he honest.. if it was my sister's wedding, I wouldn't show up in my military greens (BDU's).. I'd show up in my dress greens..

Now that you mentioned it, it sort of does look fake to me too. On him, it does not look like an American uniform; it looks like some kind of BDU, and it's certainly not his dress uniform that any real soldier would wear at a formal event such as a wedding. Plus, he's wearing some funky looking boots, has his field jacket on, and is wearing his hat inside a courthouse. He looks like he's just loafing around and bad posture, chin down, slouching while standing, and he's unshaven. Or maybe I'm wrong, but it's jmo based on no information.

It's only stolen valor if you impersonate someone in the military in an attempt to gain some sort of compensation or benefit. In a case like this, it wouldn't apply. Otherwise, every actor portraying a military person on television or the movies would be guilty of such.

I've seen many MANY of these videos and they are all created by people who post them for the purpose of making money - not just to have fun. But I'm pretty certain you are incorrect about the actors who impersonate military personnel in movies and television. They get permission from the military to impersonate them prior to filming. I would be willing to bet what little money I have in my account that the people that post these videos did not get permission prior to posting them.
