The fact that the bride was totally fine with her mom planning and her mom doing the MOST for her daughter. Not that it’s the money that’s love but it’s the EFFORT she put in and TIME and THOUGHT. Now that’s parenting

I studies for exams while raising a child, doing a clinical internship, and doing household chores as usual. That’s not the point I was making. It is their money and the choice as to how they spend it is theirs. I just think spending so lavishly gives both bride and groom an unrealistic view of life. That is such a hard act to follow.

@@louiseclarkashburn6664 Good for you! But let's be honest... Her mother spent 15000$ on invitations... What kind of "hardship" you imagine her to have in future? She will have staff for everything. Instead of being a rich useless trash she is focusing on creating her own identity, which is a good thing. I see daughters fighting in this same show about the dress their mother chooses. Meanwhile she had a whole wedding planned out by her mother but she didn't say that "it's too tacky" or "I don't like the color of the napkin guests are wiping their mouths with". Being an Indian all I can say is that that's in the culture. We see emotions behind the things, we don't like to hurt our parents and we take care of them even when they are old. Even when they re bedridden, that's what good kids here are supposed to do (and I am proud of it). I don't know about her, but I have many dresses my mom bought for me that I don't like much, but I still wear them just because I want to see her smile everytime I wear them. I think the person is talking about that kind of "parenting".

Lately a week is normal! But earlier, sometimes it could even take around 3 weeks to a month! We have many traditions and ceremonies, each differ with from where ur from and ur family, but there are a few that are more famous. It’s lots of fun, it’s basically a festival. New clothes get made or bought, the best food EVER (sometimes it’s a show off competition, which isn’t the best thing) but there are places in India where it is done very very low-key. Some people are starting to do smaller weddings as well, but usually as a compromise the reception has tons of people (ofc this differs from person to person, family to family, state to state, and everything). Basically u should totally come to one and then come to thousands. Just an input

Lovely and so interesting. I have been to a few Hindu weddings, living in Durban, South Africa, which has a very big Indian community, the biggest outside of India. The horse is so majestic and was so beautifully decorated and obviously trained for all the noise around it.

I mean I don't think no one should be angry because someone have more then them. We shouldn't be jealous of what other people have. That's not beneficial to you at all. And if people would truly work together in this world, and help one another. Instead of putting people down. We could all have more then enough. But most people tend to be very selfish. Especially here in America.

Their money and how they choose to spend it is really nobody else's business. Indian Americans have become the overall wealthiest ethnic group in America despite the hardships they face because so many of them work extraordinarily hard in school, make smart choices, and thus earn high-paying jobs.

when rich people spend money the economy thrives. Think of the number of jobs this wedding created, the number of small vendors who would have benefitted. This type of spending is good. Also, knowing that they're Indians and therefore immigrants I'm sure that money was hard earned.

Looool @01:30 'an elegant, simple piece': *proceeds to show a poofy confection of pink flowers hanging off crystal beads & further floral garlands, all dangling from a tall crystal vase with *even more* crystals studding the candles at the bottom* - oh, & don't forget the petals! I mean, it may all work as part of the final design, but 'simple' it is not! (Reminds me of my own mother's reassurance that we would have a 'small' wedding, only for the total guest count to be ~200 lol!)
