Such a wonderful family... All three generations are so courteous and loving towards each other and are so in sync. The pink dress, it was absolutely horrible. Her entourage reaction was not mocking, but honest and caring. And the bride herself was ecstatic that everyone felt the same way about the dress so she could laugh and have the stress of meeting that dress style out if the way! I do think putting a bride in a dress that is over budget is unexcusable!! Mom clearly stated $1,500 and maybe a 'little' wiggle' room. Not double the price. I've watched enough episodes to know there are plenty of princess ballgowns that are less expensive and still so beautiful.

If I went to a bridal shop and told them my budget and they brought me a dress even a hair over my budget I would not want to spend a penny at their establishment. If you cannot find a dress in your shop within a reasonable budget such as 1500, then you are not the right shop. I love this show but the number of times this particular boutique has completely neglected the brides budget and call it “just a tad over budget” is appalling. I also cannot stand when they pull dresses well over the brides budget then look to the entourage to cover the difference as though it was the entourage who put them into this predicament.

It makes me so happy to see the ladies of someone's life come together to show support. I bought my dress online on a whim from a fancy boutique. While I ultimately missed the experience of trying on tons of dresses, I really wanted my adoptive mom, mother-in-law, and my biological mom to be there for me and show that I had nothing to fear on my wedding day when I went to a bridal shop to try it on with all the duds. I say this because my adoptive and biological mothers couldn't be more....different..and with a tumultuous past concerning my adoption and my father, I was scared the tension was gonna be palpable. The only one who showed up was my biological mom. So, it sucks I'll never be able to share a moment like this with my adoptive mom. But I honestly feel so happy for the women on these shows who have an army at their back, ready to support them. I cant wait to be that for my kid someday, suit or dress ❤

Watching this show has made me realize how awful of a salesperson I’d be, in the eyes of the shop. Customer: “I want a slinky bias-cut slip dress in an ivory satin fabric, I don’t want a veil and I have $2,500 to spend.” Me: “girl have I got a bargain for you, this is exactly what you’re looking for and it’s $300 under budget, let’s get you in and out in time for brunch”. Yeah I think they’ve got an amount they expect each customer to spend so it encourages sales persons to bump up the budget even without the families permission. I know some people can sell ice to eskimos but like… why would I bother selling something to someone they don’t need
@Caldella2 жыл бұрын
Wedding dress consultants often make a good chunk of their income on commission, so it's kind of in their own best interest to try and upsell at least a little with each client. The shop expects it, but they're relying on it, too.
