This series, and especially this episode at 11:00, provides a very beautiful life lesson: whenever we see any old person, no matter how forgetful or annoying they are with hundreds of wrinkles and many health problems, we should remember that there was once a time when they were also 20 years old; they also had dreams, hopes, and aspirations of looking forward to the future while they were young and healthy. How many dreams were broken? How many betrayals did they face? How many times were their hopes dashed? What tests did they face in life? Did they cope? Did life make them bitter or beautiful? Did life make them more cold or more caring? I now treat all older people with great respect, because I do not know what battles they went through in their life. Now when I look at an old person, I try to imagine what they looked like when they were 20 years old. I shall never judge another human being….

It upsets them because that is the home they grew up in and where their father lived. They have traditions and rules they have always lived with. Faruk and Esma have run everything. Garip will become the head of the family and household. He will have the power to change everything. If he chooses to not involve Esma in decision making he doesn’t have to. It’s complex and they will feel helpless.
