I am disturbed by the fact that in all the comments about black holes (indeed by people who should know better- no offence intended) it is often pointed out that everything that falls within the event horizon (The Schwarzschild radius) is forever swallowed up by the black hole, and "not even light escapes". That matter is captured and swallowed is, of course, because matter must obey gravitational laws, but the photons are massless energy packages and that it would be influenced by gravity falls on its own irrationality. Einstein's theory of relativity (see, among other things, the Lorentz transformation that Einstein himself used in his theory about the relativistic phenomena that occur close to the speed of light) says that mass will, due to relativistic mass growth, become more and more massive as the particle is pushed towards the velocity of light. But light already moves at the speed of light, if the photons had mass would not consequently the mass be infinite? That would be unreasonable. What happens in reality is that light approaching the event horizon and "wishing to climb up" from this gravitational well (i.e. the curvature of space-time) becomes the subject of a massive red shift, to the extent that the wavelength of the photons becomes "infinitely" long and thus impossible to detect. When the light enters the space-time curvature, spiralling down, it will of course blueshift but eventually there is no return back. The speed of the photons does not change, but climbing up from the well takes energy, which is expressed in changing the frequency of light, recognizably the red shift. The photons slide down in the curved space-time that surrounds the hole, and slide around in the increasingly intense space-time curvature until it becomes impossible to get up. The energy of the photons is, as we know, related to its frequency. A phenomenon that arises for an outer viewer of a hypothetical traveller falling into a black hole, if an outside viewer could study his watch, would find that the closer he approaches the horizon, the slower the clock goes (the relativistic time dilatation) to finally stop completely-the traveller appears to be frozen in an eternally immovable state. The analogy with the photon is that its frequency, i.e. its "clock" tick, would slow down (obviously becoming more and more longwave) to finally cease completely. Light is not affected by gravity but is exposed to what is called "gravitational redshift". A strange condition for our hypothetical traveller is that, because of the relativistic longitudinal contraction, he would become infinitely "short", in other words, as I interpret Leonard Susskind in one of his lectures, all matter ends up in an infinite thin "shell", frozen for all eternity in the event horizon. Susskind means, as I understand it - in short, that the relationship between the matter in the infinitely thin shell and the hole inside the event horizon consists of "quantum entanglement". Entanglement means that particles have a "pair relationship". That is, across the event horizon there is a relationship between them although they never “touch”. This would solve the problem that information falling into a black hole would become invisible forever, something that goes against all basic physics. Note, however, that matter must be in interwoven state from the beginning. One cannot take any matter (e.g. electrons) and think that one would have the interwoven property. The mass in singularity would only consist of the fictional neutron star that existed before the black hole was formed? Even more strange is the fact that the traveller in his own reference framework does not experience any change in his reality. Comments mr Ross? Regards Allan

When i thought about the universe, how huge it is, billions of galaxies and billions of stars in each galaxy, so i thought can God be that insufficient and would have only one solar system, one planet where life could grow into existence. Then God showed to me that this universe is like a fruit tree, which was planted by God and we (life) are the fruits of this tree. Just like the fruit tree does not bear only one fruit but many fruits all around the branches, the same way this universe does not bear life only here on this planet earth but all around the universe.

You do realize that you’re guessing, right? In truth, not even the greatest scientific minds can say what’s in a black hole. There are theories, but none has yet been proven. The only thing that we know that’s ‘tossed out’ is radiation. Hawking Radiation to be precise.

Hugh Ross is a very good astronomer and correctly gives the age of the universe, But he is not an anthropologist (the study of man) they are different races on the earth and they did,nt come all from Adam. In Genesis 1 God created (spoken into existence) man and woman and He created He them ( in the plural)However In Genesis 2 God (formed) Adam out of the 'dust' that which was already created. God's creation pattern is that He created kind after kind and told them to multiply kind after kind. Kind and the word species are synonymous, for Hugh Ross to make a book that we all come from Adam is a slap against True Science and the Bible which is a White Adamic/Israelite book.

I don't agree with Ross on there not being intelligent life else where in the universe. The tools that we have been using are not yet advanced enough and we have not been looking long enough to find any other intelligent beings out there...Yet. SETI is steadily progressing in their search for intelligent life elsewhere. Just recently, they started using A.I. to assist them in their search. Furthermore, we just may "happen" across some form of intelligent life out there just by using the tools we have to explore space for other reasons. As our technology evolves more and more over time, the chance that we will find intelligent life elsewhere will increase. We're merely babies at this point of searching. If God has written a book called the Bible, maybe it pertains to life only here on planet Earth. Who's to say hasn't done other things beyond just creating life here since he is all powerful. Why would he stop at just Earth and not go on to do even more amazing things throughout the Universe that we have no knowledge of. I just don't believe the Universe is as enormous as it is for no reason...There has to be something else out there that we just don't know about at this present time...With our current technology.😉

SETI is obsolete, astronomers can look at stars millions, even billions of light years away and know whether or not a star can harbor a planetary system that can harbor life. SETI is only about 65 years old, it cant see (detect anything) beyond 65 light years. Anyways, there is no sense in looking for life billions of light years away, the universe didn't have all the elements for life billions of years ago.

@@fudgedogbannana Life as "we" know it. Scientists have already shown that life exists (minus those same elements that allow us) under all kinds of extremes right here on earth. Based on that alone, life would exist elsewhere in the Universe. Again, it's not all about looking for "life" signatures...But...The technology they will have developed that would reveal their existence. We didn't know about Black Holes until we saw how things around them reacted, because they are invisible to our eyes. In a similar way, we would become aware of life existing elsewhere based on the technology they would have developed.

As I’ve heard Dr Ross explain in other videos, the universe God created is necessary to support life on Earth. If it were smaller, life could not exist, if it were larger life couldn’t exist. Don’t ask me to explain it in more detail as I’m not an astrophysicist. But, it has to do with the formation of certain atoms needed for life to exist. Things like carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, etc.
