Yeah, the first 3 seasons of the show were more sci-fi than horror, but Season 4 is the complete opposite. Though Season 4 just like the rest of the seasons does retain the mystery aspect the show always had.

(NO SPOILERS‼️) Let me tell u the years of the seasons and ages of El, Mike, Will, Lucas, Max and Dustin s1- set in fall of 1983, they’re all 12 s2- set in fall of 1984 (only season thats a year apart) all are 13 years old s3- set in summer of 1985 (8 months after s2) Dustin, Will and Mike are 14 years old while the girls and Lucas are still 13 s4- set in march/spring of 1986 (8 months after s3). Will is the only one who’s 15 (his birthday is the 2nd episode of the season) and the rest are still 14

I remember the early 2000's blackout. It affected Canada and the US and I believe lasted for a few days where I am in Ontario. And I think it was around August if memory serves correctly. I dunno, I was in high school 😅 I'm thinking 2004 ish?

YAY! We're back to Stranger Things 🥳 Season 3 is so fun & nostalgic as it pays a big homage to everything 80's, especially the mall culture of the time. Nowadays, malls are mostly empty & abandoned but there was a time when the local mall was THE PLACE to be. Huge number of teens hanging out, going to the movies or the arcade, or just sitting around the food court "people watching". So just to refresh your memory, season 2 ended in November 1984. Season 3 starts with a flashback to June 1984 (about 4 months before the events of season 2). Then we catch up to the current timeline in Hawkins which is the following summer (1985). Steve & Billy have graduated high school. Nancy, Jonathan, & Robin just finished 11th grade while the boys & Max have completed middle school. This is the summer break before they start high school as 9th graders. Season 4 picks up about 6 months after season 3 ends. And yes, each of season 4's chapters are like watching individual movies as the run time have increased dramatically. Chapter 9 clocks in at a whopping 2 hrs & 20 minutes! But I promise that it won't feel like 2+ hrs as there is so much going on - it's pure insanity! 😍

Steve is great, Hopper is the typical over protective father, evil Russians, El is amazing and a new very strong friendship develops. Add heart pounding adventure, plot twists and a strong dose of the 80's and you have season 3, a great season. Season 4 is just down right a horror story every single episode.

The most unrealistic thing about this season is that ham radio Dustin built. In real life you can transmit across continents or oceans using just a wire that's a few yards long. And putting it on top of a hill is totally unnecessary. To reach as far as Utah, line-of-sight is impossible due to the curvature of the Earth. The signal would be bounced off the ionosphere, and back down to the ground, several times, essentially ignoring local terrain entirely. It's actually easier to transmit over thousands of miles than over tens of miles if you don't have line-of-sight or a relay. He could set it up at his house, no problem, even if his house is in a valley. Indiana is a lot flatter than Utah. The issue could potentially be the Rocky Mountains, on her end, so maybe a little elevation on Suzie's antenna might help a bit. But the ionosphere is way higher than the Rocky Mountains, and she's probably far enough away from them so she shouldn't have any trouble.
