Is that a pi zero? If so that is a step backwards from a pi 3b in their old offering. I had a jumbo spot with a pi zero but it kept locking up on me so I put the js hat on a pi 3b and it now works great. I turned around and installed all this into a c4labs case made for a js and pi 3b and now have an attractive functional hotspot. Pi zero is too weak to run a hotspot in my opinion. Please tell me this is not a pi zero.

I already have a hotspot that I built myself but there was / is a learning curve so the Bridgecom Skybridge maybe the best way to get started for some. great vid thanks. just a quick question, most battery banks suffer voltage drop on the output when they are being charged and some disconnect the output alltogether. you said in the vid that you can charge the battery while the skybridge is running. have you tried this ? also, is the ip address not displayed at the bottom of the built in screen? 878 uv+.... awsome daily driver, amazing sensitivity.

Why would I pay Bridgecomm $299 for this device when I can order my own MMDVM board with display, Raspberry Pi-Zero, 8G uSD and an acrylic case from C4 labs and have less than $60.00 in the hotspot? All the little accessories for power connections most people already have or can get very cheaply just about anywhere? I have built several... have one each for DMR and YSF at home and for my RV. ALso built one that stays in my truck. I just do not see what value that is bringing to the table for this device.

Purchasers need to be aware they have to give SKYBRIDGE access to their WIFI network. Network name and password entered in the Pi-Star Configuration page. I was listening to two individuals that purchased the BridgeCom packages last month and they were complaining the couldn't get the SkyBridge to work. Neither had access to a computer so that part of the setup eluded them. They expected everything to work right out of the box. They were over 150 mile from me so I suggested they try and contact local hams for assistance. One said he was just going to return everything to BridgeCom. 73, W1RKB
