‘Bridgerton’s’ Nicola Couglan REACTS to Luke Newton Dating Rumors (Exclusive)

“Bridgerton’s” Season 3 leading lady Nicola Coughlan chatted with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi at the NYC premiere. She spoke about how the season is “very special” and the support she got from previous leads Phoebe Dynevor and Simone Ashley. She also dished on how she was initially “terrified” to watch back those steamy scenes between her and Luke Newton aka Colin Bridgerton. Plus, she reacted to fan theories that the two are dating in real life, saying they think it’s “really sweet,” though he’s just a “lovely friend.” “Bridgerton” Season 3 drops May 16 on Netflix.

Exactly. Way too much pressure. Friendships between actors that do intimate scenes are always going to look weird to outsiders because they are so much closer than normal friends. I do think often actors that play couples are encouraged to amp up their flirting during promo, and it really works if they have as much chemistry as these two. But yeah, even if they are together or hooked up during filming I don’t think they would tell the public until much later. But on the other hand, if they are seeing other people right now then they are probably keeping that under wraps as well. It benefits the show to keep the rumors going or generate more press to an extent.

If season 4 was a Bridgerton female (Eloise, Francesca, or Hyacinth), she's already worked with all of them. That leaves Benedict's (uncasted) love interest for season 4, since Gregory is too young for his storyline to be next...allegedly lol

I find it hilarious that people think they're dating. Of course they're not, it's blatantly obvious. Their closesness is more PR than anything else. They share a special bond as co actors and leads of a huge show, they've shared this journey and experience together so they'll always have that in common. But I don't see that they're close at all. And frankly it doesn't matter so long as they have a good working relationship and can convince us of Polin's love story.

I think everyone is obsessed with this love story because its the dark, tall, and handsome man falling for the short curvy chic. Many women feel so ugly and overweight, they feel that a man like Luke would never find them attractive or want them sensually. Men I believe are scared to be judged in loving a woman whose quirky, short, curvy, and simple. So they have become a pair that people have imagined in their minds plenty of moments. Now, its been visualized for the public to see. I think it's about time that the western way of thinking comes to an end. Both man and woman deserve happiness and to feel whole.
