I’ll give you a “sweet” recommendation. If you love gelato, you will love this place. It is called Frost Gelato! Their flavors are fresh and I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like (after two years of being opened where I live)! I had to do a double take when Bridget forgot your outro and then doubled down with the appropriately bleeped out f-bomb! I was rolling on the floor laughing!

You guys are adorable and I love your friendship but Bridget not wearing a seatbelt is giving me anxiety. 😬 I hope you guys stay safe, even vaccinated, the Delta variant is a beast. I’m surprised to see no masks in all the public outings.
@karenjohnston52243 жыл бұрын
I had exactly the same reaction! Up here in Canada, we see all the news about what's basically a desperate emergency covid situation in Texas, yet there is non-essential interstate/intercity travel, restaurants are still open, almost no masks to be seen (even those little kids weren't wearing masks, and they can't be vaccinated). Let's hope Bridget isn't taking any Delta variant back home with her. With the tragedies they deal with every day in their hospitals, health care workers must be SO disheartened when they look around the community and see people acting like covid doesn't exist. And yes, Bridget - wear your seatbelt! If you were in an accident, you may have to wait a long time for an ambulance, and you wouldn't get a bed in a hospital because they are full with covid patients! Sorry to sound negative in the face of a fun video - it IS nice to see two best friends having a fun visit together, but please keep that pesky virus in mind! Our numbers are a tiny fraction of the cases in Texas, but we are only JUST starting to visit friends indoors (and only if those friends don't live in a covid "hotspot" or emergency zone), and people are only just starting to board planes again - maybe that's WHY our numbers are so much smaller? You are not responsible for showing people how to stay safe during covid, but with over 14,000 views already, a lot of people are watching what you do, and what is going on in the scene behind you. Stay safe!

OMGGG PLZ SAY HI I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS I REWATCHVTHEM
@karenjohnston52243 жыл бұрын
I agree that it was nice to see two good friends reuniting, and having fun together. But I do have to add to "Mrs Fed" and "Angela" - I know it isn't your responsibility to influence people in their covid-safe behaviour, but with nearly 22,000 views so far, a lot of people see this and learn from your example. As a Canadian who despairs for America and what is happening in your country, I couldn't help but focus on the fact that here we have: a) non-essential travel by plane between states in a country on fire with covid spikes, and between cities in one of the worst covid states in the country, b) close contact indoors and out, no one wearing a mask, c) time spent at restaurants, no masks (and why on earth are restaurants even open in Texas?!), d) hanging out at a park, no masks, and seeing children in the background without masks, and where no one was social distancing, e) an escape room that involved small indoor spaces (prison cells) - again, why are these even operating in Texas right now?! The rest of the world is looking at the US and wondering how covid can be so rampant and devastating in a first world country where all the science is actually happening and informing the rest of us - this is how! I mean no offense - I love watching both of your channels - but you're acting like covid doesn't exist, in a state that is devastated by the infection and death rates, in a country already overflowing with the virus. And Bridget - wear your *#$#%* seatbelt! If you were in an accident, you'd likely be very badly injured because you are not wearing it. You'd have a long wait for an ambulance and no ICU bed where they could help you. What a difference this video could have made if you'd given the 22,000 viewers a good example of how to connect safely with friends during this new outbreak, how to be responsible out in public by wearing a mask and by practicing social distancing, by avoiding the kind of indoor venues where covid happily spreads. I normally have nothing but positive things to say after watching either of you on youtube, but this video was truly concerning, and it made me sad.

Hi Karen, I read this sentence from your post "As a Canadian who despairs for America and what is happening in your country" and wanted to reach out and simply say that we here in Texas also feel deep concern for your total loss of freedoms there in Canada. Fortunately, we live in a vast, beautiful world where the choices of one area are not those demanded of all areas. We each get the freedom to create the world in which we live in a way that reflects our deepest values. Here in Texas, we value freedom. We encourage anyone at risk to wear a mask, stay home, or get vaxxed. However, we also allow people to CHOOSE for themselves how they want to live. It's really a beautiful thing, we think. Maybe you'll want to try it, sometime? Basically, let's live and let live.
@karenjohnston52243 жыл бұрын
@@haileyunger5020 Live and let live - an interesting concept during a pandemic when the most simple actions could make a huge difference in protecting the lives of citizens. Maybe the difference is that here, we see ourselves as part of a community, we are willing to put ourselves out to help care for each other and for the greater good. Look at the death rate from covid in the US compared to other places, and especially take a look at the states shouting about freedom the loudest - your people are dying at outrageous rates, people are becoming desperately ill, children are now in the crosshairs of this virus, and your ICU beds are full all across your state. And it was all avoidable. So if that is what you call a beautiful thing, it just reflects even more poorly on the already notorious world view of the American south. In Canada, we have all the same freedoms as you in the US (the crazy southern rhetoric about us being all socialist and all - in the classic words of Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride, "you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." ), even more if you include the freedom to get great medical care no matter who you are or where you live or whether or not you have private insurance. I guess the difference is that, except for the small group currently following the US-led anti-science/anti-vax/anti-mask crowd, we don't really see the request to wear a small piece of cloth on our face, or to get a perfectly safe, highly effective, fully scrutinized life-saving pandemic-busting vaccine, or to stand a little further apart than usual - we don't see that as a tearing away of our freedom. Quite the opposite, actually. And I wish you were right in saying that in this big beautiful world, the choices in one region don't affect people in another - would that that were true. Americans travel, and while most of us here would have preferred our border to be closed in both directions until you had your numbers down to a civilized level, as of Aug 9 Americans can arrive in out airports. Your choices DO have an impact elsewhere. If only we COULD keep your cases right there in your state where it doesn't affect anyone who is making responsible choices (including those in the northern half of your own country), just keep it there where y'all are happy to keep the virus circulating and harming people. If only the choice to not vaccinate didn't lead to circulation so prolonged that more and more dangerous, more contagious and increasingly vaccine-resistant variants are allowed to flourish. If only. But that's not how this big beautiful world works. Here in this situation, I was just profoundly disappointed to see two educators I have followed and have respected putting out a video to be seen by a good many viewers - one that models exactly the opposite of what we all need to be doing to bring this virus to heel. And seemingly not recognizing that this video could have a really negative impact. You have people in Texas saying goodbye to relatives dying of covid over FaceTime on a devastatingly exhausted nurse's cellphone, yet two besties who should know better couldn't just carry on having their awesome get-togethers over zoom for a little while longer? What a difference it could have made if they'd shown responsible pandemic-fighting behaviour. It's kind of shocking, yet sadly predictable, that most of the comments are about hairstyles, and watching besties having fun together. You're so right though - we should live (responsibly and empathically) and let live (by not prolonging a potentially deadly pandemic). Those deeply held values in Texas are leading to avoidable deaths due to a public health travesty, outrageous voter suppression, and now, a turning back the clock by half a century on women's health and reproductive rights. The world has eyes on Texas now, but for all the wrong reasons.
