Thank you for the update. I’m happy for you all that the weather is warming (not below freezing all day/night). Amazing to see how quickly Peel Holdings have responded to this disaster. Everything is now being organised and coordinated from what I can see, from welfare checks on boaters to getting in a VERY quick system to get everyone refloated

It's a long shot but I have had a few props like this off with thin bottle jacks and a lot of heat Last time you had the right torch but because that's such a chunk in the middle it really needed a lot of pre heating in my opinion Not an expert only worked on them for a few months

Yes, it's good content. I don't think it's entirely legal, though! You are supposed to stay within sight of the drone at all times rather than relying on the camera (since the camera only shows you one direction, so you can't see all around the drone in order to stay safe) and he's often flying long enough distances that I don't believe he's in sight of the drone.

I just want to say to you all that all three of you deserve medals for what you have done for us all, who are watching the disaster on the Bridgewater Canal, from afar. Have learned *so* much about what happens when a canal is breached and you're all taking your temporary imprisonment with such good humour.... I'd be completely furious, whereas you are just taking it as an opportunity to educate the rest of us. And for that I, for one, am VERY grateful. Keep up the good work and I hope that very soon you are back afloat and can continue on your adventure. Thanks x
@Jacobtheunwise58 минут бұрын
Deserving a medal for journalism that's benefiting his KZbin channel is pretty ridiculous. Before the incident he barely got 5k views and is now getting 100k...

Hi Josh… hope you are all doing ok. I’m on the Bridgewater moored at BMBC at Runcorn. Some years ago we had the Portadam guys in to build a similar dam to enable us to drain the slipway and remove the water to expose the drydock gate at the BMBC club. This was to rebuild the gate sill and other maintenance jobs. The Portadam guys were very professional and helpful throughout the 6 week process. I must say it did feel strange working on the bottom of the dried out canal, with the dam behind us holding back a 6ft wall of water. 😳 Regards… Steve 👍

The fix may be expensive. But it's also a lesson that you need to invest in preventive maintenance and ensure stop planks and cranes are in working order. The damage would seemingly been a lot less were they able to stop it more promptly.

I'm a little surprised they didn't remove those tree branches near the cofferdams, very simple and clever devices first saw them on something like Tomorrows World many years ago. I've sent an email to Bridgewater. Hope we get a result 👍 Hello I've been watching Taylor's Aboard, Olive, since they have been stranded on the Bridgewater canal for some weeks now. Josh their son has been out daily to film footage with his drone which has been fantastic and very informative. You have been very helpful for them, giving them all the help they need at this time which is wonderful. I would ask that you give Josh some recognition he deserves by buying him a new drone and a new pair of army waterproof boots and a very warm jacket. Sorry to be so bold, I think this lad needs a bit of recognition for showing everyone he cares so much by filming progress from the very start of the breach to date. The workers are doing a wonderful job putting in the dams. Regards Jan Roberts

Fantastic to see this as it progresses so glad you got to film it. I wondered how they did this. They regularly do this around about me on a medieval bridge that has needed more than one pillar dammed off while needing to keep the river flowing. its mad to see them working on the river bed and the water so high above them flowing past. I guess they must use cranes and divers to install them though. Great graphics thanks for the extra time and effort.
