Latinos are a rapidly growing economic force in the United States, yet stark wealth disparities persist compared to White families. While White families boast a median income of $188,200, Latino families lag significantly behind with just $36,100 in median wealth. Historically, efforts to bridge this gap focused on improving Latino financial literacy, but to truly address wealth inequality, systemic barriers hindering Latinos' wealth accumulation must be dismantled. Join CHCI as expert panelists discuss data, research, and practices aimed at tackling discriminatory lending, limited access to education, housing discrimination, and other structural inequities affecting Latinos nationwide. This session will emphasize the urgent need for collaborative efforts between private, public, and nonprofit sectors to foster equitable wealth-building opportunities for Latino families.
