I remember when I was younger there was a high school bully that would pick on me for my height. It wasn't until one day I showed him this big shark I was drawing that he had wept and pulled an almost identical shark drawing out of his backpack. 20 years later we are best buds.

My two closest friends hated each other for 3 and a half years, after a small battle in which they both called each other an idiot I knew I had to do something, so I made them both draw camels. But when they showed their camels to me I found out that they both drew sharks and they both drew a really big hammerhead shark with two eyes saying "OK!!!". From that point on I knew that they must be friends so I detached myself from those friendships and let them form their own bond. We're still not friends anymore even to this day.

I keep a shark drawing in the glove compartment in my truck because there's something exciting and daring about keeping something so private and intimate just inches away from my oblivious friends and coworkers when I give them a ride. Ok so I’m sorry for the rant but today I was walking to Target when I tripped and fell and my most prized shark drawing fell out of my hat. It was a great white and it was very realistic. A homeless man picked it up and started at it for a bit, and I turned beet red. Then he rolled down this sock and handed me his unemployment check. I took it and on it was the beautiful shark drawings I’ve ever seen. We kissed.

My husband also used to have a secret apartment where he kept his several secret shark drawings. I found out about it sevens years after we married and at first I was furious with him, but once he broke down crying asking if we were going to get divorced I realized it was time I overcame my own deeply rooted thoughts on shark drawings and accept this as a faucet of the same man I married those many moons ago. I admitted to him that I had never had the strength to draw a shark, and he held my trembling hands over a blank piece of printer paper and said “Until now.” It was the closest I’ve ever felt to another human being. We did however end up divorcing after I came home one day and to my horror discovered we had run out of radishes under his watch.
