I think it was on purpose A lot of rappers rap a little behind the beat; it’s a technique that I believe was popularised by Jay-Z (I’m not too sure though). It helps add a bit of sauce to the performance kinda.

Here after recently watching "Lemonade Mouth" twice over the last few days. One of the best movies to ever have came on Disney. I'm twenty four years old and didn't go to Disney that much growing up as a kid. I mostly went to Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. I only went to Disney two or three times a month. Been getting into some old Disney shows like "Good Luck Charlie" the last couple months as well. I had no idea about this song until recently. The main reason is cuz when I was younger I barely ever went to Disney.
