Brie Larson's explanation on how she creates an authentic acting space with young talent is quite brilliant. It's amazing how she can halt and maintain her emotions during a scene to coach someone younger to respond authentically. I really do hope she wins that Oscar.

loved what she said about self perception and why she continued to pursue acting. however i believe a lot of wasted time people who aren't enjoying their life or live it the way they wish too aren't just not curious enough. i think there is a myriad of things that can stop us from living every moment as our best selves, mental illness for starters. They are both brilliant actors and im glad we get listen to them, they are what that biz needs.

@amywilks30388 жыл бұрын
+joecairo1 I think it might be because he's Australian in real life which equals different pronunciations and mouth positions whereas often in films he has an american accent which forces to to push your mouth to different positions which maybe removes his lisp?

It always seems the case when the two actors aren't familiar with one-another's work. You can tell when an actor really appreciates another's skills because they have seen films/productions that they've been in.

Yeah, this was a definite mismatch. Brie tried to make a joke and he just breezed right past it. From then on, she played it straight and didn't try to inject any humor and stayed at his level.

Dumb question why do actors sometimes act like they haven't seen the movies someone else is in?
@brandonhinrichs86576 жыл бұрын
Josh Joughan because they probably haven't. A lot of actors don't really watch many movies and some don't even watch the ones they're in
@SavedByGrace_CitizenEmperorユウ Жыл бұрын
And I also think that acting is such a hard stressful job with like 12-14 hour days. If you make a decent amount of money, you will travel the world in your sparetime or meet with your friends or your family. Surely you would watch some movies from time to time but actors surely won't watch as many movies as movie fans do. I also don't think watching movies is really inspiring. It's not bad to watch good movies but if you got the options, go to art museums, watch concerts, try out new art forms, meet new people etc. I can imagine that being an actor demands you to get inspiration and stimulation from the world surrounding you and from a lot of different people. Watching movies that aren't reality would feel like a waste of time if you got the financial means to do way more exciting real things anywhere in the world.

@mosejon34473 жыл бұрын
@SavedByGrace_CitizenEmperorユウ Жыл бұрын
Rather be who you are and take risks and risk people not liking you than being "normal" aka boring. pre-Oscar Brie was a lot calmer and shyer than the Brie that took on the huge professional and personal challenge with playing Captain Marvel, an offer she rejected twice because of the fear of fame and the pressure and everything that comes with playing such a huge role. But it paid off. Yes, Brie didn't always act the best way but when she's in the right environment with people she likes and trusts or when she talks about her passion project Captain Marvel, she is fantastic, much more relaxed, funny, smiling, warm and awesome. She's not as good at social interaction as I say the majority of actors or musicians and she's very private. She's not someone who is like most people. She does her own thing and that's great.
