I just failed my exam right now ( 30 mins ago) for an aviation company here in Canada and I'm searching up on youtube about other trainees' experiences during their aviation training. Passing grade is 80% and I got 79% 3 weeks of Theory and Lecture and 2 weeks of in-person training.

Hi Brieana! I watched your entire series during my recruitment journey and your videos helped me so much! I start ground school with virgin at the end of the month but was just wondering how strict the airline is with sickness and needing unexpected time off during ground school. I guess i'm just worried I might get super ill during ground school and get kicked out for it. Might just be me being paranoid though haha

Hey congrats on getting the job and starting ground school soon! It might be best to speak to the teachers on the first day about this concern. I think it depends on how much class you miss etc but I don’t think you will necessarily be kicked out but you might be moved to the next ground school if you miss a lot of classes hope this helps!

I've never, ever in my life felt studying anything close to enjoyment..!! I find you unique 😆. Now, I don't think you failed once because you chose the wrong answers, maybe the questions were wrong 🤔 😅. Thank you to all the flight attendants out there for putting so much effort in your life, so we passengers have a safe flight 🙏. Tc and stay safe.

Cars can pull over to the side of a road and wait. Boats can temporarily stop moving on an ocean and wait. Trains on rails can come to a stop and wait. But airplanes for some strange reason need to keep moving at all times or they'll crash. Now tell me how flying is "the safest mode of transport".

Comparing to those Asia base airlines such as CX, MH, SQ, VN, they have a much higher entry requirements, you need to be a certain height for boys and girls, and there's also an unwritten criteria they only pick "better looking" applicants for the second interview. Once you got in, you need to stick to their way of dress and grooming including a certain type of hair settling and make up for girls.

Hey Angeline! Thank you for the comment! Those two things are really good to study - tbh there isn't much more that i can think of that you could study before, as everything is different airline to airline. You mentioned that aviation was/is your dream job - when did you decide that and why? I kinda just woke up this morning and thought to myself, you know what would be kinda cool... being a flight attendant. For context I'm just finishing up my bachelor in computer science lmao. I'm definitely a spontaneous person and while I'm not exaggerating when I say the thought of working for an airline has never crossed my mind every before - after a probably still too little amount of research I do think it'd be something that I would very much enjoy. I love to travel and probably weirdly enough the idea of being on standby to go on a flight is really.. for lack of better word, exciting? 😅I imagine in the moment it could go either way and sometimes really suck, but in comparison the 9-5 route seems so average ahaha. As a seasoned flyer, would you agree with the sentiment or nah? Cheers
@BrieanaYoung

Hey there, thanks for your comment! I decided i wanted to be a FA after getting a taste of the tourism industry when I worked as a tour guide. We must be similar because I get a kick out of being on call and I find it exciting as well hahah!! Yeah I defiantly get your sentiment when sharing around the 9-5 routine, I really love working shift work, but everyone is different. If your still interested defiantly give it a go see what you think! Do you still feel like you want to become a FA or was it just a spontaneous thought?

@@BrieanaYoung You know... I think I still do. I had a vague plan of where my life was headed in the next year or two, but also I'm super aware of how jumping on opportunities can change your life in ways you couldn't even imagine beforehand. I'm not currently qualified, nor am I in the position to drop everything and chase after it - but at the very least I'm going keep it strong in the back of my mind. I'm based in Sydney, and I imagine around March would be a good time for me to apply. I saw Virgin has been taking applications for a while now, but they'll stop at the end of the year. Do you know how often airlines typically have positions open, and how have covid affected that process? Cheers

@@BrieanaYoung I'm kinda confuse on how many beautiful girls end up becoming flight attendants than any other jobs, this is why I thought some girls might be forced to become flight attendant. So I'd like to know if you were not forced to become a flight attendant then what made you decide to become a flight attendant when you were in university or when you were younger.

@@ninjapirate123 Oh okay thanks for explaining, trust me there are a lot of beautiful girls in other careers. To be honest I think the make up and cool uniforms make us look more attractive then we actually are hahaha! No one is every forced to do any job (at least here in Australia, people have the right to choose what they do) What made me decide is I lived overseas for just under 2 years and I gained a passion for the tourism and travel industry. When I came back to Australia I finished my degree and started applying for jobs as a Flight Attendant. 😀

@@BrieanaYoung Oh so thats why you became a flight attendant. And I know there are beautiful girls in every jobs too but it's mostly flight attendants that are the most attractive. And from the way I see it, most of the most beautiful girls in every country ends up becoming a flight attendant or else how will the airlines have so many beautiful girls end up doing this job. I know the airlines make flight attendants wear these uniforms and creates an illusion in order to make flight attendants look better, but thats only to make beautiful women to look more attractive during flights. So I also think flight attendants need to be pretty in order to do this job, I dont think its just the uniforms.

If we get unpaid training I heard that we need spend a lot money from our pocket. I wanna know if we need to pay for something like For five weeks training do we have to pay for the hotel Nd transportation.
@BrieanaYoung
@BrieanaYoung 2 жыл бұрын
Hey really good question - to be honest I’m not sure how it works if you don’t get payed. I personally didn’t stay in a hotel for training because training was in my own base. So it is different airline to airline. Are you about to start training?

@@BrieanaYoung thanks for replying.. I been thinking of applying but about being based on differ location than where I live makes me freak out. And I am curious about how much money I need to save up for the training if it’s in a different state. I wonder if they pay for hotel expenses or wat ? Before applying I need to know all the details about everything. That’s why I am here to know.
@BrieanaYoung
@BrieanaYoung 2 жыл бұрын
@@vibe3047 can you apply to be based where you live or is that not an option? If you have to move to another base that will definitely cost money so make sure you save. I know a lot of crew stay in AirBnB’s during training if they don’t live where they are based. If the airlines training facilities aren’t located in your base then the airline usually pays for you to fly to another state, stay in a hotel and pays for transportation. But if the facilities are in your base then you will perhaps have to cover all of that if you don’t live in that base. Did I explain that okay?
