the soviets while it still be morally wrong, if they had not invaded and reconquered the territories that Poland took from the Russian revolution, The Nazi government of Germany would had taken all of Poland! Thus increasing its military might to conquer the Soviet union, then would have enough supplies to wait out the war until America and UK would have to send millions of Angl americans to there deaths compare to 4 hundred thousand in our timeline. Again as a Pol, while i do condemn the Nazi soviet pact, I do see its short term goal of the Soviet Government to both save and enslave pols. But if you have to chose a evil between 2, i chose the evil that does not want all Slavs dead so my view is Soviet.

We should be PROUD of us, Poles, for being able to still be the independent country after all those wars and hardships we had to endure. Cause it's true that in our history some countries kicked our asses. Lots of times. And of course we won a lot of wars and battles too - but behind those victories there are many innocent people from our old enemy's countries who had to die. So it's not like we're the holy ones and the rest of the world is bad cause they attacked us/betrayed us/or done some shit to us. I know we Poles like to glorify our country (well I believe that every country likes to do so) but please... Let's just be proud of our nationality and stop fighting over everything that touch polish subject, even a stupid cartoon for kids... Sorry for bad English and greetings from Poland.

*Inaccuracies* 0:20 Where do I begin here? 1. This makes it seems like Germany was a united thing at the time when the truth is the opposite. Germany was like a confederation of hundreds of mostly tiny small city states known as the Holy Roman Empire which was not holy nor Roman nor an empire. 2. It uses a map of pre-WW2 Poland and Germany. Since this is talking about the early history of the Kingdom of Poland Poland and Germany both looked very different. 0:24 Bohemia is not in the location shown in the video. Bohemia is in modern day Czechia. 0:33 I don’t know what this is referring to. At first I thought this was referring to The Polish-Lithuanian-Teutonic War but that happened in 1411, not 1386. I thought maybe they mistook the Old Prussians for the Prussians, the Old Prussians were a tribe of Baltic People who live in the regions Prussia controlled. They completely were wiped out by The Teutonic Knights anyway. It doesn’t seem like The Old Prussians had any major quarrels with Poland. 0:36 There were 3 invasions by the Mongol Empire, none of which happened in 1386. 0:40 The Grand Duchy of Moscow did not invade Poland in 1386. Technically they never did but the Polish-Muscovite War did Start in 1605, long after the Grand Duchy of Moscow became known as Russia. They’re also shown to have very inaccurate military clothing for the time as they seem to be wearing 19th Century Russians uniforms. 0:55 Once again, inaccurate uniforms. 1:03 The Russians seem to be wearing WW2 styled clothing. 1:42 The Russians are still wearing WW2 clothing. 1:50 The Germans didn’t have tanks during WW1. That was an invention made by the British. The only German tanks that did see combat during WW1 was the A7V and only around 20 were made during the end of the war. 1:52 It’s worth mentioning they invaded Poland alongside the Soviets before the Germans betrayed the Soviet Union in 1941. 2:02 The Soviets didn’t have any nukes until 1949, 4 years after WW2’s end. And even if they did have it I’d find it highly unlikely they’d use it on the Germans unless they just refused to surrender and didn’t want to waste more lives. I mean, this is Stalin we’re talking about but he wasn’t an idiot, you have to have some brains when you conduct a purge and kill anyone you don’t like. I might’ve missed a thing here or there and gotten things Inaccurate. Correct me if I missed anything or included something that was actually correct.

Thank you. Only one thing - there was a Polish-Muscovite war before 1605 in which Muscowy invaded the PLC. It was in 1577. And the war you are talking about actually started in 1609, after the treaty of Wyborg. Until then, Poland as a country was not engaged in this conflict. From 1605 to 1609 war was fought by the magnates living near the eastern border, who expected gaining personal benefits from the war, and some mercenaries. However, king and the sejm (parliament) opposed the intervention.

I mean from an humoristic point of view, it can be funny, but not realistic. I mean it's a huge generalization and simplification, that gets events in a disordered and undistinguished point of view. Again, I know that being a content for children it must be simplified, but that's not simplified, that's erroneous. Bohemian and/or prussian invasion in the middleages ? Kossak or Tatar invasion? All "war related" events are treated as invasions (referring to the German/Soviet one of 1939). But they weren't all invasions really. There was for example the Kossak revolt, but not an actual invasion of Poland, or there were fights in Silesia and Lubusia with the Bohemians in the war between 1018-1030 against Holy Roman Emperor Henry II, bit those were not invasions. My concern is the ignorant vision of Poland as a nation continuously dominated by strangers, as in reality it has a long beautiful story of patriotism and dedication to the cause of Freedom.

TherealScrable - 1. What- does newborn countries without medieval/feudal/gothic times are viewed as lesser unequalls. 2. Those countries wanted revenge on their former colonies to absorb them back and wanted to conquer the new world continents like they did to the Middle East, East Asia, and Africa (the US is rich and diverse in its natural resources) 3. Civil War- “war between the citizens within the same country”. Is this based off of when the South seceded into independence and almost got recognition into a country. They were Americans on both sides but came from some other ethnicity. 4. America followed the Monroe Doctrine to stay neutral and to not get involved into wars of the old world continents (Europe, Africa, Asia) only in the America’s. Like separating from the rest of the world for an less complicated/conflicting continent severed from the old worlds problems. Along with Woodrow Wilson 2nd election promise to keep America out of the war because who would want war. However the sinking of the Lusitania with American deaths, the Black Tom terrorist explosion on the stockpile of ammunition on Bedloe island, unrestricted U-boat attacks in the Atlantic, and the infamous Zimmerman Telegraph to introduce Mexico into war against America to regain their territory. That when America stopped trying for their isolationist mindset and went to war but as you said, it was close to ending. 5. We try to get involved and rebuild countries so they don’t turn villainous like Nazi Germany but have success like Japan. I do agree however that due to various factors that we haven’t had the same success and did atrocities=Vietnam. You are taking this too harshly and personally at face value.

Histeria was such a mixed bag... for every segment like this, or "Theodore Roosevelt, Trust Buster," you ended up with a Vomitorium sketch or something like that. Still, this was concentrated awesome. I just wish Warner Music had owned a certain Queen song, for when the Bohemians invaded...

I think your missing the point of the segment. It never showed Poland winning or losing, only that Poland has been invaded many times. Which I think is a very accurate statement. Also this is a children's show with a strong comedic flavor, note the 1/2m tall Napoleon, its gonna have a few inaccuracies compared to a documentary. Finally, this show is American, that fact it is going as in depth as it is is remarkable. For those Polish of you reading this, without the internet, tell me how many times the United States has been invaded.

You could probably do the same comical sketch with the history of Israel. Israel was founded by Abraham. But then it was invaded by the Egyptians...and then by the Canaanites...and then the by Philestines...and then by the Assyrians...and then by the Babylonians...and then by the Persians...and then by the Greeks...and then the by Romans...and then by the Byzantines...and then by the Muslims...and then by the Crusaders...and then by the Ottomans...then the British... (lol)

It's an American kids show trying to do Polish history. It's not technically wrong it just doesn't show how Poland fought back the invaders and lived on as a distinctive culture and now great country. Still gotta love that Baby.

I feel sorry for children who are brought up on cartoons like these - no wonder so many Americans don't know jack shit about European history and are full of ignorance towards other cultures, when stuff like this reduces one of the largest and most influential Eastern European states throughout history (look up Polish Commonwealth) to a series of invasions... and I don't say that out of spite, this is as bad for the American kids as it is for those offended by their ignorance.
@Gigadramon68 жыл бұрын
+Bamul1 It does reduce Polish history to a series of invasions for the sake of an extended slapstick joke, but the reality is that it's rather difficult to think of a major Eurasian power in the past 2000 years that *hasn't* invaded or attempted to invade Poland at some point or another. The fact that this acknowledges that Poland *existed at all* before it was invaded by Nazi Germany is frankly a step up from the standard American education curriculum.
@BamulOi8 жыл бұрын
That's true, sadly. Though tbh most of the major invasions that took place on Polish lands happened during the last 200 years of the country's history.

Chococao - Yet you didn’t win WW2 against Nazi germany, the Red Army, or even the USSR in the Cold War. Poles lost 1939 from stronger enemies the Soviets and Germans (Molotov Ribbentrop pact), but they never surrendered and fought until 1945. Polish mathematicians Marian Rejewski deciphered enigma already in 1939. Home Army submitted plans for V1 and V2 rockets England. Polish Forces scattered all over Europe participated in numerous battles alongside other Allied contingents, for instance:

There was with us when religious tolerance in Europe were persecuted. We did not give up so easily trample,, "Poles are cantankerous and prone to fighting. Much we drink, and we are corrupt. An American student pooped into our professor's office one day in late 90's and was impressed by the antique furniture the room was filled with(It was in Cracow, Jagiellonian University). -"Them bookcases, they're older than your country, son", prof. replied. Would you Americans tolerate a similar cartoon about your Independence War and attacks on WTC? We, Poles are not that much self deprecating when it comes to our history.
