Thank you, for the help, once I pulled the handle out all the way and tightened the two bolts back into place, I was able to pull the string and the mower started right up. :)

It's the handle. Turn the 2 black dials till they come out and pull up the handle.

Solution. I had the same issue. I have the m210 and wasn't able to pull the cord out to the ring. It's the handle. There are two black twist screws near the rear wheels that are to adjust the handle length. It can't be the length it came out of the box in because I think that's just for storage. You need to take those out and extend the handle bar longer, and put the screws it. Now pull back the blade control handle and the cord should pull right out!

How to release starter cord if stucked: I figured it out. So when assembling the handle pull the handle bar up til the 2nd screw hole then reattach the T bolt. When handle is left at the 1st screw hole it prevents the blade at bottom of mower from turning which prevents the starter cord from releasing. I'm so PROUD of myself!😄

9/1/18 - I bought this lawnmower from Sears May 2018, and already the self propelled wheels stopped working!!!! I'm VERY disappointed. I have no idea why because the mower is only 4 months old. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so...how did you fix it?

I bought this same mower 2 years ago. The gas cap is crap and continued to fall off until I finally ran it over. I have looked all over online and yes at sears.com and no one has the gas caps....any thoughts? Checked ebay as well.

for the reference of other poor souls trying to pull the starter cable up: the handle needs to be pulled out. loosen the bottom set of pins, pull the handle straight up to the second set of holes and refasten. the starter cable will then release.

You need to squeeze the top blade control bar down and then slowly pull the rope. He did not do this in the video but it should do the trick. I've tried the steps; holding the blade control control against upper handle and slowly pull starter rope handle from engine BUT it does not release. I knew I should've went with a rider mower

I'm actually switching from a Honda to a Briggs. Tried a carb kit, then bought a OEM Honda carb, no joy, not getting fuel. The gasket layout is huge pain in the butt and I've put that back together for the last time.
