Tom, Tommy over at Tommy-Time successfully uses blue painter tape on the air canal at the back of the primer type backing plate to seal it up and then of course puts a gasket in place too. I've had some luck putting quarter size washers on each side of the front of the backing plate intake hole. The washers will flatten out even distorted backing plates besides sealing the backing plate against the carburetor. Good video.

Your fuel line plier clamps look like a dolphin nose. I wish I could work on stuff like you do. It’s around 40 in my garage. 20 outside. I have one of those propane heaters but I have no desire to get out In the garage when it’s that cold. I would rather watch videos from Tom Doby. Keep up the good work.

Briggs is telling people who buy new mowers that they never need to change the oil, just add it as the engine uses it, That will be fun to follow to see how long they last with the metal shavings circulating inside there. Maybe that is why my neighbor added 3 X as much oil as it needed. He wanted to get ahead of checking his oil. He was lucky to only ruin his air cleaner.

Is that blade the one that a bent blade was put on, that is on that one or was it another. I remember you saying that only Honda’s can be run without a blade and you put one on in another video that was bent to just start it. That might be why it is running goofy also…..

Talk about cringing. Definitely do not use a power tool on that bolt that screws the vane into the carburetor. It doesn't end well. Ask me how I know.
