If anybody knows the displacement size of this engine then lmk! Or if I can get billet upgrade parts for either one of these engines!

I just did almost the same swap, a rusty LT1000 with a good 21hp twin and a solid LT1000 with a blown 17hp single. You don't just swap the motor, you have to also swap the rear fuel tank, from battery tray, fuel line, battery cables, come cable, and throttle cable from the 21hp engine. The carb is in a different location, which is why it's easiest to keep the cables with their engine, and the 21hp engine will hit the tiny fuel tank, making it best to bring the huge rear fuel tank and hose with the engine. The twin muffler was junk, I had to get a new one off Amazon. Taking the body off for the tank swap was easy, 6 bolts and twist the shift knob off.
@IngenGarage Жыл бұрын
Alright! I did have to move the tank back a little when I put the twin in but it was definitely worth it lol.

Mine has a 18 horse twin, and they are very reliable. You just need ear muffs, ear plugs, or a helmet. The governor bypass won’t hurt it, mine knocks and won’t blow even bypassing the governor

I have an old rider and I want to engine swap it but on the old engine there is two wires coming from the solenoid to the engine but on the new engine there is three, what do it do?
@IngenGarage Жыл бұрын
Probably could be some kind of extra safety switch or going to another gage/switch. Really not sure lol

Does hooking the throttle cable directly to the throttle arm on the carb Bypass the governor? On my stock twin engine, its hooked up to this little plate underneath the carb
@IngenGarage Жыл бұрын
That plate is probably the governor, if it has the adjustable slide thing on it then yes. Hooking it up directly to the carb butter fly linkage bypasses the governor.
@jordansimon3899 Жыл бұрын
@@IngenGarage Thanks. I tried it and it does work. The only thing is when you apply the throttle on mine, i can feel the engine fighting back on that throttle arm on the carb.

It might too much spring tension but idk, its kinda hard to explain something in writing, you know lol.

Hi! I need an advice since I got an opposite 18hp and I can't remember how I should assembly back the intake valve, the order of oil stem spring and retainer. Plus I need to know how bad can be that I made a govenor delete, since I can't assembly it back cause the thread for the pin(retainer) is shredded so needs I fresh thread to keep the governor assembly. Thank you in advance.
@IngenGarage Жыл бұрын
I'm not going to lie to ya lol, but I had never really had one of these apart. Maybe you can find a exploded parts diagram somewhere but if I had to guess, since this is a flat head, put your spring in and slide the valve in and put your retain back in. I bypassed the governor on mine and haven't blown it up because I don't hold it wide open till the engine blows lmao.

Have you ever thought of flipping the trans so you don't have to run a jackshaft?
@IngenGarage10 ай бұрын
I did but I would have to redesign everything and I cant put a big pulley on the engine without doing a custom clutch because the factory one will only allow a 6 inch pulley before it comes in contact. This seems to work fine so I'm just gonna leave it lol.
