I have an identical piano I got for free and have been working on. I need some specs for the key cover hinges as mine were replaced improperly and the hinged part doesn't close but hangs over. Curtis

I had a Wurlitzer that my husband brought three decades ago from a club that give it away to him, because he wanted to learn piano. We wanted to give it away, but I just kept hearing that there were to many pianos out there that people wanted to get rid off and will cost $400 plus to take it away. This is the reason I decided to dismantled myself carefully to preserve all parts for recycling or art work. it took two of us three days to take apart the piano armed only with manual screwdrivers; the dismantled work was fun and educative about all the work and engineering Wurlitzer put on the piano.

We had one almost exactly like this that was bought when I was a baby in 1952. We just gave it away when my sister died.

Every once in a while, you get a spinet that sounds amazing and plays really nicely. But I'll be honest, there's only like 1 out of a thousand that will be like this, most of the spinets I've run into are unexceptional or straight up terrible instruments. I do like Acrosonic spinets however, those are by far the best.

Wow, I got almost this exact one (SN 434148, 1951) for free as a project piano to learn how to work on pianos! Considering a career change to Piano Tech after I retire, and your videos are very helpful! Did you keep the original strings, or install new ones? Looks nice in black, but I may try to restore it to its original appearance to include the burgundy leatherette coverings. If I can get mine to sound half as nice as this one, I'll take that as a win!

I have a Wurlitzer I just bought off eBay, model number 426570 (looks almost exactly like this one but I know it's older). It would really help to know the weight please. I live in a 100 year old house that's worn and I want to feel "safe" when I play my piano. I placed it on a corner where I believe it will be sturdy and posing no threat to the home structure, but just want to be sure.

I think it's about 400 lbs. If your floor joists can't withstand that you have structural damage that should be looked at urgently. Do you have reason to believe that your piano is too heavy for the floor structure?

You did a great job making it look great, but unfortunately it still sounds bad.
