Such a great song/album/video. This song still means so much to me, even after all these years.

If it still means as much to you and others who might have just heard him for the first time 40 years from now Conor might really have IT!!??!? What ever IT might be. IT would put him in a very elite group of artist. Don't get me wrong Conor Oberst is a very talented artist who I am just really starting to listen to, but I cut my teeth on Dylan and Springsteen, Neil Young and Tom Petty, guys who even though they have been around 40+ years their work is still relevant. With the exception of Petty, may he rest in peace, they are still putting out work to day that is a relevant as it was in the 60s and 70s and those old songs are still being discovered by yet another generation. Like I said Conor is a very talented artist who the more I listen to the more I like, I truly hope he has that staying power and doesn't let himself or others burn him out. I'd love to say at a 110 that yeah I was listening to Conor back in 2018 of course I'd probably just be drooling on my self and making incoherent grunting noises .

Connor is a true poet and artist, I can feel the moods in every song he makes and its great to have that connection

the scream sample you hear is from an episode of The Hulk TV series where he gets caged in the zoo. A mother sees Hulk talking to a little girl and she screams multiple times the same exact scream. Just found this now by randomly clicking on a hulk episode on youtube. Love you Bright Eyes! 8 minutes in, in the episode The Hulk Gets Caged at The Zoo Season 1 Episode 6. Love this song until the end of time!

Free grace gospel. There is nothing as easy, lucky, and free as the blood of Jesus Christ. If someone denies that there is no reason to weep for them. They rejected the free gift of salvation.

Considering this is by a band/guy who has never made a bad album I think it means sonething that I still choose the album this song is from as my favorite of them.

So how was this video made? Did he just write backwards? I can, but I have think about it This world is full of lost causes and saints... and all the rest too This is one of my personal favorites, period. Maybe one day we'll figure it all out. As all the ice melts

AHA! it only took me 15 years, but Conor is not actually left handed, the window he is writing on looks like a chaotic mess, THEY INVERTED THE VIDEO!

Looks like it. Unless they just reversed the entire image, meaning he didn't actually write it backwards.

No. He probably wrote it all the correct way and then just flipped the whole image for the video.
