Mitsuri's sword is based on a REAL SWORD named Urumi it was used in ancient India. Also they got swords that were meant for temporary use while their smiths prepared the real swords... Also this episode is great forshadowing for how OP sunbreathing (hinokami kagura) COULD be in the hands of a true master of it, we got a good taste in tanjiro's beginner level technique.

31:33 Yes Sarah, unfortunately there are a large amount of those kinds of comments from inconsiderate people in reaction videos that think they’re not spoiling something if they reword it in such a way that doesn’t flat out say “xyz is going to happen.” Lots of them will either tell you they can’t wait for you to watch a specific episode so you now know something big is going to happen on that episode, while others will list clues/hints in the form of a question and pretend that they know nothing. It’s unfortunate that there are so many people who are incapable of not providing spoilers for others.

So it's like Kotetsu lent Tanjiro a sword - Tanjiro used the sword to fight the Yoriichi Type Zero robot - the sword broke after the fight - they discovered a 300 years sword inside the robot - Haganezuka appeared, gave Tanjiro a replacement sword, and took the 300 years sword, saying that he will refine the rusted blade. For Tokito, the sword he is using right now is the one he took from the Yoriichi Type Zero robot. Tokito’s old sword broke during his fight with the robot (he told Tanjiro to throw his old sword away) - Tokito broke one arm of the robot and took the sword from it (which might explain why it's chipped? no one had maintained it, and it likely worsened during the fight) - Tokito went to find Tanjiro to ask about Kanamori (his new swordsmith) - Tokito and Tanjiro encountered Upper Four - Tokito was blown away and found Kanamori - 6:40 Kanamori said that Tokito’s new sword was ready - before Tokito get his new sword, they encountered Upper Five.

I'll give a little cultural context for my favorite move the Sun Halo Dragon Head Dance. Sun Halo is a white or colored ring around the sun, created when sunlight is refracted through ice crystals in high-altitude clouds. I've never seen one personally, but from images on the internet, it looks truly divine and I honestly can't find a more fitting word to describe it. A Dragon Head Dance is a cultural celebration performance (in my country, we used to perform these at New Year festivals) where a group of people don an intricately ornamented head of a dragon with a mouth that can open and close. One person pilots the head and the rest of the team hide under a long cape, wearing "suits" that look like dragon legs. They perform an intricate dance to the beat of drums and the crackling sounds of fireworks to... ward off evil and bring in good luck, I guess. Both the dance and the skill Tanjiro learned are meant to evoke the image of a coiling serpentine dragon that is essential to Asian cultural heritage. Our concept of a dragon is unlike the one in the west with a beer belly that breathes fire at a stone castle with a princess trapped inside; instead it (龍/long/ryū) looks like a serpent with tiny t-rex arms.

The Urumi that Mitsuri is using is basically an extremely thin sheet of metal which is alows it to bend somewhat freely. It comes from india and is one of the toughest weapons to master as its super easy to cut yourself into ribbons with that for obvious reasons. Also it often has more than one blade irl.

These are real swords from India used in the South Indian martial arts of Kalaripayattu. The sword is called Urumi. One gets to use that sword only as an advanced practitioner.

I kind of love that Tokito told the swordsmen to go hide and they're getting in his way. Too many times have I watched a strong character get themselves killed because a weaker character is standing in the way of danger, not moving their legs at all. I have to say, I got kind of annoyed with Hinatsuru in the last season- she needed to get out of there half an episode ago, so it makes me happy that not only did Tokito tell them "hey, you're in the way, I need you to move so I can defeat this thing," but that they listened as well. It wasn't cruel, it was just factual.

Love Hashira didn't actually know that the weakness of fish demon are at the vase. It's just one slash of her sword is like hundreds cuts. So it doesn't matter, the slash is meant to cut the vase or in this matter she cut all inportant part of demons body or anything that odd/stand out.

18:05 Huh... Muichiro is a lot harsher here than the subtitle, something like "fckng bastard" or "scumbag" would've been the correct translation. Not sure why the translator tried to soften it...the author and even the voice actor with the sudden tone change made sure to let the audience know that he was angry.

Ah the sword Tanjiro is using now is the temporary one Haganezuka gave him while he's working on the 300 year old sword. Kanamori was also working on Tokito's new sword because he broke his using the training dummy. He's using one of the swords from the dummy currently, because he broke off one of the arms. Which is why when Tanjiro trained with it, it only had 5 left. Also props to Kanamori for shielding Kotetsu and then just grabbing him and taking off running when Tokito told him to. Got his bearings and then didn't hesitate.

The dragon head dance that Tanjiro did in this episode was one of those moments I went back and rewatched right after I finished this episode the first time. It's like when Tanjiro first did sunbreathing against the spider demon - I just _had to_ see it again And I have a problem with binging anime. I can have shows in the backlog for years (Death Note was there for almost 20 years for me) but once I get hooked by a show I just zoom right through it. So I definitely get Adam when he says he'd probably binge the show if it weren't for us, lol

A headcanon thing I just remember is that because the village itself so well-hidden (if it sounds right) that no-one knows its exact location. The Love Hashira, Mitsuri, has to follow her crow since it was the crow knowing where to go not her, so basically I think if the Hashiras know where they must go it would take much less time

About Love hashira sword idk many ppl were very confused after seeing the sword of mitsuri but i was not .. i have already seen that sword in real life and its a sword from india typically from maharashtra and is called as a Dandapatta ..patta in this means like something like a belt which can whip and the sword is fully metallic ... this sword is more difficult to weild than the normal katanas which demon slayer use.. though katanas are japanese origin .. if u want to see how it looks like in real life u can see the trailer of bajirao mastani movie with 19 million views ..it has a scene in which the main character uses this sword not 1 but 2 simultaneously

The sword Mitsuri uses is an actual sword from India called Urumi, also known as a belt sword, which seems to be used a lot in the fantasy world. re: mitsuri knowing to go for the vases--i think her sword and fighting style allows her to attack multiple points on an enemy so she is just naturally going for every spot that seems suspicious as she would have with any other opponent.

She's very technically skilled instead and I like to think her brawn alone is so superb that it got her the hashira position. Not saying she isn't intelligent, but I think she doesn't need to think about most things because her strength overcomes that need.

'Recruiting strong people' is more of a Akaza(Upper Moon 3) thing. We've only seen Akaza asking Rengoku, an enemy to join his side. Gyutaro did ask Tanjiro on a whim to be a demon since Tanjiro had a little sister like him and pities him as he thought Tanjiro was going to lose the fight. Muzan so far shown has only wanted to kill all people and demon slayers after him.

Remember, the nichirin swords react to the user changing the color of the blade, for tanjiro turns black. The one he’s using is the one lended from the fight doll as the one tokito is using. Right now haganezuka is reforging the sword for tanjiro from the 300 year blade. These episodes are really cool and I actually felt so stressed for tokito trapped in the water bubble! 😢 what happens next? Tune in with Sarah and Adam’s next reaction!! I had the same thought when I saw his tooth regrown, him refusing to eat (he refused to eat in the butterfly mansion too) and his eyes being all weird in this episode. i mean its one thing to pronounce a name from different culture differently as names are different from words. you can have 3 people with same name, spelled same and pronounce it differently and it would all be correct because it is their name. Words are more sociatal norm that everyone agrees upon meaning every word is pronounced same no matter where as long its the language we speak of. what i mean is that no matter where you go, if you speak english, sword is sword (ofc different language call it differently). so apples and oranges...
