Catchy beautiful music, well understood lyrics, relatable story, heartfelt honest themes, no vulgarity, no political agenda pushing, no distracting flashy lights, mentally engaging sets and set changes...hmmm no wonder it only played a few months on Broadway. ???? This was hands down the best most uplighting wonderfully executed musical I've even seen and Carman Cusack's vocal had more so much emotion it just gave me chills. almost 10 years after seeing this, I still hum and sing the songs and play the CD.

this was the best musical I've ever seen. I can't believe it only played on Broadway for a few months. It came out the same time as Hamilton and Bright Star was SOOOO much better.
