It’s also worth mentioning that Tyler did such a good job they didn’t even re-record most of the tracks they used on Vessel

One of the biggest differences is that Josh did not actually record any drums for the album. He is credited as part of twenty one pilots on the back cover, but all the drums are programmed. They don’t sound real because they’re not. The album was made between the departure of Chris Salih and Josh officially joining. Chris confirmed that. They re-recorded all the drums for Vessel

most of the drums in their studio recordings are not real anyways - most of trench were just drum loops from a library and lots of blurryface was from a plugin called nexus josh does record some but they are heavily spread out and are not always audible - josh is more a live performer than a studio recorder

@@PEP. that’s not entirely true. All the live drums from Vessel on are Josh. If you’re talking about E-Drums then, obviously. But even recently on Choker, the percussion loop in the beginning is Josh’s live playing sped up, not a sample. Check this out at 13:35 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3SXnoqAeLF0f6s

@@clifftonl-vuitton2770 thats why i didnt mention vessel - lots of vessel was real and also lane boy (along with some comped in cymbal sounds) and songs like that lots of the drums in scaled and icy were just plain loops from splice i dont believe josh was actually telling the *full* truth there as i have sped up the original sample and it sounds identical. also, in the ending chorus of choker where everything goes half time, the sample is played at around its original speed and you can hear it under all the other layers
@PEP.
@PEP. 2 жыл бұрын
@@clifftonl-vuitton2770 the beginning of never take it is a loop from splice, the saturday drums are mostly a splice loop, the outside was an addictive drums loop, my blood + chlorine + jumpsuit + smithereens + morph + many other trench songs were mainly addictive drums patches / loops

@@PEP. why would you think he’s lying about recording drums? also, that would mean you have access to the original sample? how so? bc as Josh said, they re-recorded the sample. That’s what you’re hearing in the song

It's amazing to see how much the band has grown and improved since this album. It'll always be one of my favorites though, because these songs got my angsty younger self through so much. I enjoyed watching your reactions to everything. I was anticipating lot of negativity from the title but it's all light-hearted and valid. Regarding the song Lovely, there's a remastered/redone version from the Japanese release of Vessel than you can find if you search up "Lovely Vessel" (or maybe "Twenty one pilots lovely vessel"??? LOL). It doesn't have that autotune stuff going on and I think the delivery makes it much more impactful. You might like it :) Thank you for the fun content!

they still play songs off self-titled and rab, they still play forest (sometimes) they still play the pantaloon, etc during old song medleys. During the beginning of the Sai era (2021), they brang back old songs and brang back ( i think) the keyboard solo during ode to sleep. (edit) the solo is during/ before Tyler's rapping verse fyi

To me nothing will surpass Regional at Best because there is something so homely about it. The production, the lyrics, the delivery, even the album title itself are all emblematic of a kid who believed that he wouldn't be known outside of his small town in Columbus Ohio and something about that just sticks with me. Also don't crucify me, but I like the RaB versions of Vessel songs more than I like the Vessel versions 🤷🏻‍♂️

6:38 Slowtown is the same concept as stressed out. You can tell on the little rap verse it has a similar flow to stresses out and describes the same theme as the music video for stressed out as well. It was made before stressed out, though, obviously so stressed out is a more fleshed out, and radio fit version of slowtown. 16:00 rewatching this reaction, there are two versions of Lovely. If you look up “Lovely (Vessel)” you should get a version without auto tune. Also, in case you didn’t know, Air Catcher’s mixing is not good, and it has that auto tune section at the end, if you look up “Air Catcher (Alternate Version)” you should get a better version. I know air catcher was off topic, but, it also has a similar case as Lovely. At 17:42 the song ruby, is about a girl with Down syndrome at Tyler’s church that inspired him. “Tell our dad I’m sorry” is referring to God, because Jesus is often referred to as father. The reason he mentions Jesus is because he says Ruby is “an angel fallen down”. That’s also why he says “take me to the promised land” (heaven). Trees is also on Tyler’s No Phun Intended and is the same with the auto tune. Some people theorize why he plays it live every time, is, because it’s the first song he wrote, or people think it is. If you want meanings on songs you should look at @The Pop Song Professor’s videos. He explains every twenty one pilots song, although, he has retired from KZbin.
@jaydenwhite1166

Also, have you reacted to No Phun Intended? It’s written by Tyler Joseph and it includes 18 songs. Blasphemy, Drown, Hole in the ground, Save, Taken by sleep, I want to know, Just like yesterday, Never change, Prove me wrong, Realize that it’s gone, Tonight, Falling too, Whisper, Taco Bell Saga, Trees(again), Where did we go, I’m a goner, and Hear me now. Some of those songs have some really random weird parts but they are still good songs. The lyrics in trench are him repeating himself 500 times over and over like "jumpsuit jumpsuit cover me" or "im a bandito" or "stay with me my blood" or "all my friends are heathens take it slow" for 90% of the song. His songs were better before blurryface where they usually didnt follow a common structure and were experimental. The choruses were usually few and far between, and short and sweet. Most of his newer songs if you cut out the chorus you cut out 80% of the song.

It’s an album that suffers from them trying to make a high budget sounding album on a very low budget. It’s dragged down by some very poor production choices and bad mixing. Tyler also just wasn’t developed enough as a singer or a songwriter to the point where it just flops that they tried to make something that sounded bold. It wasn’t a very good idea that they tried making this without a label backing them, and it ends up failing because of it. You can see a clear passion in what they were trying to do, but it’s also pretty clear that it didn’t turn out exactly the way they had it in their head, due to the limited resources and lack of experience with music like this.
