Squirrelflight: ANNOYING or AMAZING? | Warrior Cats: The New Prophecy

Squirrelflight is definitely one of the most interesting characters in the Warrior Cats series. From one view, her natural talent is amazing, but the other cats didn't see it at first. She has to overcome the hate from her companions and prove her usefulness. From another view, it does not make sense that she is so strong and intelligent despite clearly being less experienced. It seems really annoying and unfair that she is more talented than warriors who have been training for much longer.
So, if she a good character? Well, to answer that, I'm going to have to explore both sides!

I find her relatable. Sure she was annoying, but what kinda child isn't annoying? She's developed so much. She's not a damsel in distress. She's sassy and sarcastic and just funny. I love her so much. She is great no matter what anybody says.

Squirrelflight had her annoying moments, but she stood up to Ashfur and saved her sister's kits. That's a good move in my opinion. She has a realistic personality. She has strengths and flaws. So, in the end, I really like Squirrelflight as a character. She's actually one of my favorite characters.

I think Squirrelpaw is great when she's /on/ the journey, but when she followed Brambleclaw to the meeting I literally wanted Brambleclaw to stuff an apple in her mouth, put leaves in her ears so she couldn't hear, and throw her into a tree. If you don't get the point.... It practically /hurt/ me to read the part where Squirrelpaw follows Brambleclaw to the meeting. Erin hunter REALLY needs to draw a line between necessary cringe and the kind of cringe that makes the fans scream at the cat causing the cringe.

It’s sad that Leafpool and Squirrelflights special bond was forgotten. However, the reason they had it was because Starclan needed a way for the cats in the journey to be in touch with the Clans because Starclan wasn’t following them in their journey. After the journey, it obviously wasn’t important anymore, so Starclan broke that bond for normalcy’s sake.

Squirrelflight is my absolute favorite character in the entire series. This video made me so happy! You should definitely make a part two! :3 The only issue I had with stormfur "liking" squirrelflight is that he didn't really seem to like her? Idk just out of th blue he was like "I'm jealous of brambleclaw for getting to hang out with her" despite the fact they hadn't really talked at all throughout the first book.

The reason Hawkfrost was evil wasn't that "oh, evilness comes from genetics." its because he didn't make the right choices. He chose to follow his dad's training PERFECTLY while Brambleclaw only used the fighting techniques for the right battle. Tigerstar led him into evilness and because Hawkfrost was originally pushed by Sasha to believe Tigerstar was great, he followed him. The end of defending Hawkfrost (kind of).

I think it would have been more interesting if Squirrelflight found out Hawkfrost wasn't evil but misunderstood. Then the readers could have the shock that the enemy all along was someone else. Than we could all learn not to judge people because we have "suspicions" about them. But it turns out the amazing Squirrelflight was right yet again! Now Hawkfrost's only character trait is evil Brambleclaw.

This is just my personal opinion, so don't bother flaming me for it, I really don't care. I strongly dislike the Bramble x Squrriel ship, and I'm more of an Ash x Squrriel fan. Reasons: Bramble x Squrriel feels so *forced*, like the Erins just one day decided to put them in a relationship. There wasn't really any development when they were on the journey to the Sun-Drown place, and I feel like that would have made everything feel more natural. If the Erins had made their friendship growth more substantial over the course of the journey, it would have made it easier to under their sudden interest in eachother. Obvious we can tell the journey brings them closer, but not enough to warrent a sudden relationship. It feels like Bramble x Squrriel only exists to create drama. A lot of the recent "plot points" in the new prophecy, the power of three and bramblestar's storm were based around drama caused by their relationship. I felt like Ash x Squrriel was more natural. They just fit together, and the relationship growth was much more gradual. The only reason Ash did what he did is because of Squrrielflight, so it's entirely her fault. Ashfur would have been great with her, but she decided she wanted a drama queen for a mate. Now, let me drown in the sea of comments.

Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight already know each other very well at the beginning of midnight, so I don't find their relationship to be sudden. Also, it's not hard to believe that Brambleclaw would grow close to the only other ThunderClan cat journeying with him. Ashfur may have loved Squirrelflight, but he has shown himself as unable to accept rejection. He would not have been able to handle the "drama" that Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight faced, but that's just my opinion.

Although I like squirrelflight, her arguing with Brambleclaw over New Prophecy became really annoying. Two super headstrong, leader type characters probably wouldn't go well together as a pairing, as as far as Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight goes, they shouldn't be mates because of the fact they both are secretive, prideful, and like to argue. When they get back together in Sunset, it's for no reason! They don't agree to not keep secrets and talk to each other more, they just are in love again even though their fights haven't been resolved! I think Squirrelflight's too independent of a character to be with Brambleclaw. And throughout Power of Three, the only way they could still have the two be together is by having Squirrelflight mellow out and lose the sharp tongue she once had, which just isn't fair.

I felt like Squirrelflight did receive backlash for her actions. And her behaviour as Squirrelpaw made sense for the context of her home life in Thunderclan. She is Firestars daughter, her sister Leafpool is t he favorite and practically the jewel of Thunderclan, everyone is always annoyed with Squirrelpaw and constantly criticising her. She is placed under more pressure than an average apprentice by proxy of being Firestars daughter. And this causes her, like any young teenager, to lash out, rebel. It's a way of trying to grasp her own identity, be her own person. That's why I love my baby angel Squirrelflight

cri. almost like my kitten, Astro, who passed this summer. He was fiesty beyond what you would think and did gymnastics on chairs. He once even had a baby mouse shoved into his mouth and almost killed it just by scaring it! my other cat, Peaches, would've been Brambleclaw ^^; He jumped all over her and was annoying, and was surely a mentor for him. No wait I hate him and I can just be a jerk he ruined my life!" I mean, sure, it could have been interesting, but Leafpool ruined her own life, she did not have to see Crowfeather. And her punishment. "You have to be a Warrior." Such a punishment! I wish Mapleshade got off this good, she wasn't even a medicine cat. But she's evil and they're good, it's all black and white. I would love a better cat in the future. Also once I mentioned this and a KZbinr litterally told me in an uncivil manner to "F**k off". Wow, boy, you got a new subscriber! Am I one of the only ones that actually doesn’t like Squirrelflight and doesn’t relate to her? She’s almost the opposite of me, I have not a single thing that I relate to her with. She was an annoying brat as an apprentice, and as a warrior I just didn’t like her, and she was still stubborn. It’s annoying that she became deputy. ANY other cat would’ve been better than her. Her entire family is put onto a pedestal just because they’re related to the almighty Firestar. All of the medicine cats are related to Firestar. The deputy is related to him. Bramblestar is the only cat with a high ranking that isn’t related to him. I strongly dislike Squirrelflight, and that’s simply my opinion.

Just in to response to what you said about judging cats on the actions of their parents. I think a reason why Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw ended up being different is partly because of how they were raised. Brambleclaw grew up and was apprenticed when Tigerstar was no longer a part of Thunderclan. He wasn't able to train him as a young apprentice the way that Hawkfrost was since Tigerstar was living in another clan. Brambleclaw grew up learning values and morals from Thunderclan not from Tigerstar. Meanwile I'm assuming Hawkfrost spent more time while he was younger with Sasha and Tigerstar [when he was given his clan name it was Hawkpaw not Hawkit so he must have been around 6 moons old.] You might that by this reasoning Mothwing would be the same as Hawkfrost but it seems Tigerstar focused his energy trying to contact/manipulate his male sons, Tigerstar and Hawkfrost, as appossed to Mothwing and Tawnypelt.

@@FabulousFeathertail I liked the New Prophecy Squirrelflight she was my favorite of the three protagonists because shes sassy and funny and questions orders. Then she became motherly and overprotective of the three, and spilled her deepest secret to Ashfur even though he was outnumbered four to one and she was one of the strongest warriors. Then she was just existing for the next series, and was too overprotective of her kids in the next, and then was a boring character despite being Alderhearts mother, now the authors are trying desperately to make her good again. I like the Broken Code Squilf, but I think Ivypool would be better.

The only character better then Squirrelflight is Cinderpelt! They're my two favorite by FAR. Also... What do you mean Squirrelflight has no consequences?!?!? Her kits aren't really her kits and they now hate her. Her "daughter" died. Her mate isn't with her any more. Those sound like pretty harsh consequences to me!!!!!!

Guinea Gamers well leafplet was meant to have kits. It was basicky her desnity...since squrrielfligh was appersently infertile back then. It mostly the hollyleaf not getring a power and leafpool wanting to leave with crowfeather that is bothering

Her life was awful once it was revealed that she had kits, though. Even if she is a Mary Sue, she doesn't have magical powers like her kids. Her kids are more Mary Sue like than her. Leafpool was my favorite character when I was younger, because I could relate to her.

I loved that you said she represents girl power, because I am a girl. But, I don’t wanna cast Leafpaw aside, I like her!
