Excellent coverage of this civil/railroad engineering project! Brightline, if you are listening, you need to offer @RoamingRailfan a position in California to follow and document your construction of Brightline West.

Brightline West is about to start construction this May according to Fox5 since they about to hire 11,000 people but I wonder if they could hire 35,000 Construction Workers then they could do that!

When do they anticipate adding a second track between Orlando and Cocoa?

@@RoamingRailfan I'd be surprised if it took them more than 4-5 years to add it on. Demand has still been growing despite the price of tickets to Orlando

Do you have any plans to film construction on Brightline West? Just curious.

Beautifull video and description of the works involved in 2023 !! Do you know why they choose to put a loco at each end instead of a cab car/loco combination . In Canada VIA Rail use the same train but with the locomotive/cab car combination ?
@RoamingRailfan11 ай бұрын
Having two locomotives provides redundancy should something happen mid trip and ensures passengers always have electricity in the coaches, especially important to ensure the A/C systems are working in the Florida heat. The extra horsepower will also help when the consists eventually expand.

@1:45 what is the max speed allowed for this type of turnout? Both for trains staying straight and trains moving onto the second track?
@RoamingRailfan11 ай бұрын
80mph for the diverging side, full track speed of 125mph on the tangent side
