It seems great ! I got carried away immediately 👍😄 never saw this part of NYC and we visited twice back in the ninethees. That was a beautiful little clip put together here! Beach and boardwalk look very relaxed, not too crowded at all. One could really think this was filmed in Odessa itself. Wished I could be there strolling in that cozy part of New York, right now! 👍🍀🌷 Best wishes from Belgium 🇧🇪 God bless! 🙏

Thanks Miss Parsley! It was definitely a highlight of my trip to New York City. Belgium is great too, by the way. I visited Bruges (or Brugge, if you prefer) back in 2018 and I never wanted to leave. Any country that puts such emphasis on stew and French fries is close to my heart.

It's a really great time and I think it is a great addition to a NYC trip. Most people probably don't think of doing it but it's a really unique experience you can't get anywhere else. Except maybe Odessa, I guess, but this might not be the best time to visit there.

Hi, Robert! I understand that Odessa is in Ukraine and that Ukraine and Russia are completely separate countries. While admittedly my language gets a little confused at times in the video I do believe I make the point that while Brighton Beach has a large Russian born population it also is home to many others from the former Soviet Union, such as Ukraine, Georgia and so on. I didn't specify that the original Odessa is in Ukraine, however, so if this causes any offense I apologize.

I wasn’t aware of this but I definitely respect the owner for doing that. Do you know what they changed the name to? It must have been hard, that’s a pretty elaborate sign.

@@stevemctravel3884 They are still deciding on a name, some speculated that the new name would be "Taste of Ukraine" but ownership explained that the new name would not be political.
@jackperri31862 жыл бұрын
How do you see that as a positive? Despite Putin’s actions Russians should be proud of their great heritage and culture and have the right to advertise it to the world.
@stevemctravel38842 жыл бұрын
@@jackperri3186 Well you can look at it from multiple perspectives I suppose. Since I assume the owner of Taste of Russia was originally from Russia and has a certain degree of national pride, the fact that this person took the step to change the name indicates that they strongly disapprove of Putin's actions. If they saw the invasion and then decided to put up a Russian flag in the window to show more pride I would find it troubling so I see this as doing the opposite. If, however, they are changing the name because they fear anti Russian prejudice or shame or something I would say that is not a good thing. I haven't seen any evidence of this so I'm guessing it was in opposition to Putin so I support it.
