Unfortunately, there is a lot behind the scenes that instructors/teachers/professors go through. Which in turn, makes them hate their job. They love the students and the will to teach, but the politics involved with school boards is what kills GREAT teachers. I finally realized this once I started college here recently. Beforehand, I thought teachers were just lazy. But most of them (not all, some are actually lazy) suffer from the drain brought on by the establishment. It is so sad, honestly.

Instead of 1/n+1/n, use x*y/x+y. If x=15, y=10 then, 15x10/15+10=150/25=6. It's more easier for more complex circuits.

In series 1/Cs = 1/C1 + 1/C2 so it would be 1/Cs = 1/15 + 1/10. Therefore 1/Cs= 1/6 and hence Cs=6F.

So how large is the current? How fast are the capacitors charged? There's no resistance anywhere, so wouldn't this reach large voltage and the capacitors are charged instantaneously?

I could probably learn this by going over the video in a few places. That could take maybe 15-20 minutes of observation and review. That means I could learn something like capacitor circuits in about the same time as a session of window shopping through online stores. -Makes me wonder what I do with my life.

Hey i have a question , maybe stupid but l like to know for a project. I have build a battery spotwelder and i want to use 3 16v capacitors 1x 100uf 1x 220uf and 1x 470uf that release a charge to contract a relay for a consistend weld. (timing) Now my question is: the capacitors i want to select them with a 3 position selector switch but the negative is combined... i think... correct? do i need to use for each capacitor a diode so the current does not flow in the other 2 capacitors that are not selected at that point. thx :)

Could you please go through this example? A 3.43-F and a 4.79-F capacitor are connected in series across a 40.0-V battery. A 7.29-F capacitor is then connected in parallel across the 3.43-F capacitor. Determine the voltage across the 7.29-F capacitor.

I know this video is almost a decade old but I wanted to say it was really great to learn from it, if I have one tiny complaint it is that at first I was very confused as when he said Q over C and other letters as such because in my mind C is always for Coulombs and Q for the charge of an atom *edit corrected my sentence*. But after some time I realised he was reading the top letters which represent others things like C for Capacitance (Farade) and such ^^

because 2/4 = 1/Cs (the equation is 1/Cs= 1/C1 + 1/C2 ) and so you flip the 2/4 to get Cs=2

Is this how it works in a capacitor where we assume there is conventional current? I mean in real life would it be electrons building up on one plate = repel of electrons off the 2nd plate causing that 2nd plate to become positively charged?
