I thought MM was most fotographed model before her career began. BB didn't play a pre-teen in God created woman. I just began reading the book by Roger Vadim about his wives.. it makes sense that I found her so pretty until that movie. While with him she was monogamous, obviously since she was in love, and a child. It's cool she's so honest, at least movie industry she knows what she's talking about. As for animals...that's another story. And she's boosting dog culture mostly at that. But the suffering of innocent, real animals is too heavy, that's true.

I believe when you're told how beautiful you are and, you have no one in your life to teach you where beauty really exist within you, then it's difficult to understand who you really are. You become a commodity. This can result in saying things for shock value because you want to be heard not just seen. Searching for understanding but, being your own self destructive enemy. So much confusion within, results in unfulfilled choices. I admire that obviously, she is indeed a survivor. Many have not been so fortunate.

She was truly jaw-dropping in her youth. I admire her decision to forgo all forms of plastic surgery in her older years. Nothing wrong with getting that done if that's what you want. But I like seeing real faces, wrinkles & all. Getting older seems to be particularly cruel for many women who were beautiful in their youth. That's because they identity with their physical body, and can't really handle it when that body begins to inevitably break down. The fact that she didn't try to desperately cling to her youth shows she sees herself as more than her body, which is kind of refreshing to me personally.
@grouchomarxist666

Bardot didn't just "identity" with her body. She traded on it. She cashed it in and exploited it for all it was worth. Her good looks were the sine qua non of her stardom, though it must be acknowledged that she had talent too.

@@jessicasanchez5765 Sorry, I have no idea what you're trying to say, but let me simplify my contention; Bardot didn't become an international sex symbol because of her ballet skills, nor her command of Shakespeare. Had she looked like Ruth Buzzi, she wouldn't have been given ANY roles to "work with." It doesn't matter who was running the film studios in France--whether powerful men, weak women or indifferent children, B.B. doesn't become a thing without her extraordinary looks. She knew where her bread was buttered and she traded shrewdly.

A woman's sense of self is very much determined by how she was treated by her parents as a child. The mother in particular, due to her being (in most cases) the primary carer. If Bardot didn't feel valued by her mother, it would have been very difficult for her to really appreciate her own true value as a human being. It's very sad. So many lovers most likely a sign of her never ending quest for affirmation that she never really got from an emotionally unavailable mother.

As someone who is mixed myself (Dutch/Indonesian) I never knew she was against race mixing. That’s really heart breaking to hear, since I always saw her as this iconic beauty. I also didn’t know she had an internalized misogynistic view on the MeToo movement. Maybe she herself was that kind of person, given her huge amount of lovers and all. That doesn’t mean all actresses are like that. In fact, most are not. And lastly the whole thing with being anti-immigrant as well is stupid. Rich coming from a French person when France colonized so many places in the past. Also, kind of typical when White women care more about animals rights than the rights of non-White people. But oh well, at least her care for animals is still a good thing. Not enough to change my feelings about her back being positive after hearing all of her negative things though.

7:00 I’m Muslim and I’d like to clarify that Muslims don’t sacrifice anything on an altar. The tradition in question takes place on Eid al Adha where Muslims slaughter a sheep (for the purpose of eating) to celebrate this holiday and to honor the sacrifice of Ibrahim (Abraham). True! I’d like to add that most of the meat that comes from the sheep is given to poor people or people in need or family members who can’t afford to buy/eat meat so it’s basically given to charity! The Eid is about giving to people in need! Americans slaughter turkeys every single year for thanks giving (which basically celebrates killing the indigenous Americans and taking their land) and no one says anything about it and it’s seen as a nice celebration so the hypocrisy is unreal! This woman is ignorant AND racist, I wouldn’t expect someone like her to have common sense or understanding when it comes to other cultures or other religions.

For the commenters criticizing Bardot’s racial views: many people of various races would prefer that humans belonged to diverse and interestingly different races. I absolutely don’t object to racial mixing-we’re all human-but I wouldn’t like the lustrous mahogany African races, the instantly identifiable antique ivory East Asians, the Ethereally pallid Icelandics to disappear. Perhaps that is all Ms Bardot was saying. In any case, she was an actress of her time and place, letting her honest, off-the-cuff remarks loose for anyone to listen to.

I never know she was against inter- racial relationships. This was not only a let down but a huge disappointment. People need to know that love has no color. There’s a saying you don’t pick and choose who you fall in love with love just happens. This is very offensive. My cousins nephew and nieces are bi-racial and I love them with all my heart and soul. When I’m the name this world and people are going to look past the color of your skin. We are all children of god. We all came into this world the same way. We all bleed the same color. I love all people. Even if they were purple green and orange. (Get my point)

She was so free. I can't believe her mind became like this, like it's not her anymore, sad.
