Absolutely amazing what a decent flow does to your hives and colonies. Thanks for tuning in everybody.
Just amazing to see so much healthy brewed Bees and Hives full of honey only after three weeks of decent nectar flow it’s not over yet even though it’s starting to decrease a little we may have another week lots going on a third Swarm arrived on the building and generally everything is looking so much better than it was six weeks ago
Nice to see you all again. Don’t forget to leave a comment if you like the video and click subscribe if you haven’t already.

Seems that the little white butterfly came back. The Metcalfa. It's almost a decade that I didn't see it and I just got a message from the scales 2kg yesterday and 1kg the day before. It will be a mix of medicinal and metcalfa. It's the white aphids that make your car sticky when you park under a tree. It's a blessed summer.

Nice, now they filling it up. Mine did a solid lavender crop even caged or with restricted nest. But some friends on chestnut aren't happy.. it's already done. @@richardnoel3141 l have the opportunity to buy used Nicot frames here in Italy... l just want your opinion. My Heather flow is usually really good but very late in compare with other places. Sometimes September- November. It's warm and they will draw if they have to. The question l have ..would it be better for me to wax them for that late flow. I have the wax it wouldn't be a problem.. but will it help to build them that late. It's a good price.. l think I'll buy them anyway. I just want an opinion does waxing makes it easier...

Hello! I recently went queenless and I knew right away because they were backfilling the brood nest with honey. Now, I have a queen in there and we’re in a honey flow, will they move the honey from the brood nest up to the supers? Anyone know this answer? Because I don’t really have any empty frames to replace the backfilled ones with for her to lay
@researcherAmateur
@researcherAmateur Ай бұрын
As usual nobody wants to help.. only pretty words. If there is an excluder.. bees will move uncapped but not capped honey from the nest. You can scratch the cappings with your hive tool to make them move it or use it. If that is a strong flow (I assume you have 2 boxes) you should get a super anyways. But you should extract what you can and give back the empty frames if that's the only way to make space. And be fast about it. There's too many questions about it. Excluder ? Boxes? How strong is the flow? and the hive strength.. are they all old bees...
@curtislesann2948
@curtislesann2948 Ай бұрын
@@researcherAmateur Hey thanks for the reply! Yeah really strong hive, a little less right now due to the brood break from being queenless for a week. I have two brood boxes and 4 supers on. 2 are completely filled, 3rd is semi filled and the 4th needs to be drawn out still. I do have an excluded on and a lot of the honey I saw was not capped. That was 3 days ago though but she should just be getting out of the queen cage today, so hopefully her pheromones that were hopefully accepted a day ago signalled the hive that she’s there and they can resume putting honey in the supers, not brood comb.
@richardnoel3141
@richardnoel3141 Ай бұрын
Sorry for not replying sooner, yes they should move honey out of the brood nest in to the supers. On numerous occasions I’ve seen colonies completely honey bound after swarming. As soon as a new queen is in there, by whatever means they will make space for her to lay. Good question
@researcherAmateur
@researcherAmateur Ай бұрын
@@curtislesann2948 yes, you're not in a bad situation with that hive. Richard is right. The bees will remove the honey to make space. I bet they started as soon they felt the pheromone. They get confused without it but with the queen back they organize their work...
@curtislesann2948
@curtislesann2948 Ай бұрын
@@richardnoel3141 thanks for the reply! Yeah because I’m afraid if they don’t remove the honey, they’re going to swarm again haha it’s +35C here in Canada so it won’t take too long for them to dry out that honey, so hopefully they’ve got a move on with rearranging the honey in to the correct box
