Brilliant DIY Filter - 1 Year Later

Do you have a video of how all 5 drain pipes connect at the bottom of the barrel? I made a 3 gravity fed filter system and was thinking of adding a few more to produce better flow. I am also thinking of adding these sieve covers to catch the finer material. What and where did you find the fabric and how many microns is it? I appreciate any information you can provide 🙏

Ill try to explain it.. if it is to diffecult to understand, you can find me on "facebook" Ronni Moric from Frederikshavn ( the only one in the entire world ) fist of. the 5 pipes doesnt connect to the bottom of the barrel, they are attatched in the white plate that you can see in the barrel. under that white plate is just an emty void, and in the bottom of the barrel is 1 outlet. . the white fabric is drain sleeve 4 inch ( found it on ebay ) the black mesh is gutter guard for houses, found it in home depo the orange pipes are sewer pipes, foind it in home depo. . if you can find me on facebook I can share pictures of it. - but this year I removed it since I could afford a RDF.

haha, I got the point ! - but I think its because only koi keepers would understand why this filter should be in the "most satisfying" - list ! ;)

Why not take the filters loose and spray the filter clean inside of the blue drum? Just drain out the sludge the same way you do the accumulated sludge on the bottom plate? Seems like a lot of extra work to move the filters away from where they sit? What's the actual filter material? Thanks for sharing this information. Nice work

Well, it is a good option, but I dont have any drainpipes from the "greenhouse" - so, fitting an extra valve at this blue drum would only dumb all the algae on the floor, and I presume it will get smelly over time, so, I travel a bit around the garden spraying it off at the grass, and.. it really kicks up the growth of the grass at those arears.. - but it would be more easy to do as you suggest, but that is one of those improvements people can make when they build their own. ( did I just "deny" a facebook friend invitation ? - I was just wondering why that request was there, but now I think I know why.. feel free to find me once more ! ;) )

the actually filter sock is nothing more than Drain Sleeve 4", cheap.. very cheap.. it can be found on ebay with diffrent diameter to fit the pipes people build the filter with !

Spraying inside the barrel will kill any good bacteria that is present so it’s a good thing he removes them 👍

The filter "wool or socks" are Drain Sleeve 4 inch, you can find it on ebay or maybe the local home depo.. Drain Sleeve ( filter fabric sock for perforated drain pipe )

Iam sorry, no there is not, I didnt have that in mind when I build it. but its pretty simple..

those are gutter guards 120mm(4inch), I think you can get them in any shop that trade with building materials. you can get the orange pipes too, they are 110mm wavin sewer pipes. try to fit on of the gutterdrains at the pipe and look how it expand at the "neck" of the pipe, that is the funktion that keeps them in place. vertical wavin pipes 110mm fitted with gutterdrains 120mm ( mine are from EXPO-NETS ) fitted with drainsleeve 4 inch.

no cloth, its "Drain Sleeve" that you would use on drain pipes underground. so a simple seach on google on drain sleeve and it would be easy to find..
