Brilliant dry fly session on the upper Avon (Still fishing for you, though you now can, part 7)

This is the eternal struggle between two flies, the mighty Grey Wulff and the self-effacing Shipman's buzzer. Who will come out on top? There's also a question of me versus some trout, but that's much less important, obviously.

@@Afoolandhistackle Genius idea I would say - I grew up fishing around there. I'm living far away now in Bali...different type of fishing which has its moments but the chalk streams and the streamer weed is what always did it for me. I will look out for your channel when I'm feeling homesick.

Thanks ! I flyfish the Avon regularly (SADAC and Services) so was just trying to work out where it was from google maps. I’ve fished the Avon since I was 11-12 (32 now). Mayfly came early this year but they’re still taking them with gusto. All the best. Chris

@@chrisknox3325 You've pinned me down! Don't tell the others. You're right, it is lovely. I've fished all round here too, but gave up my SADAC membership years ago to try and get the hang of my own stretch (plus I didn't really have time to fit it in among all the other fishing I have to do).

@@chrisknox3325 They were early, and while they're in good numbers, there hasn't been quite the mass of them as there is in usual years here. The fish are taking them enthusiastically enough, but catching them, apart from on one evening, is proving harder that you'd imagine.
