@brilliantbikes I normally ride Catalyst Pedals from the USA, don't think they will fit a G line...

When I bought my Danish "Flame Painted" Superlight in 2019, a Black Version, it came with a folding pedal and I have a similar Titanium Bolt intended for the pedal also, as my bike, what is left of it, now weighs below 9 kilos, and still with my mudguards, as a "Rainy Dane"! I haven't been able to change the bolt, but I will eventually when I get the Time. The original bolt is hard to get loose, so that is why! But I have never liked "loose pedals", to be lost during transport if unlucky, and standing somewhere with a folded bike, minus a pedal, is at best Interesting😄! Finn. Denmark

Hi Hannah, the clip-on pedals has notches at the end of the mount, when you slide it in and it doesn't go in first time, slightly rotate the mounted part and it will slide in...these pedals do not need to be forced in, also the mount and holder of the clip-on do not need greasing either, in my humble opinion, hope this comment make sense :)
@brilliantbikes4 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes the axle is easy to rotate. The hey do need to be greased, we learnt this the harder way having a pedal stuck in, it even says in the pedal instructions they should be greased

On a parallel matter, I believe that 70mm and 80mm easy wheels are available for the G-line as opposed the 60mm for the P/T line. Hannah, I'd love to hear your thoughts on any benefits of retro fitting them to the earlier lines. Thank you, and a very Merry Christmas to your family as well as everyone at Brilliant Bikes 🙂 🙂

Thanks David for watching and the Christmas wishes, all the best to you too! The G line roller wheels will fit on the C/ P, you need to use the bolts on the respective bikes, what have not tested is if you get more heal strike.

@@brilliantbikes May I also ask whether you think that they would work on an electric version, i.e.still offer a stable platform with a rack ?

Great vid. What we need is Brompton to do a spd/flat version like the PD-T8000 XT Mountain Bike SPD Trekking Pedals. (Or could you swap the spindles?)

Thanks for watching! I’m trying hard to source a SPD removable pedal, let’s see!

5:19 😂😂 find it recently also impossible to insert the pedal, from the wrong (riding) side of the bike... One lacks the muscle memory and that little bit of additional strength (push vs pull) there...

I do like the cleverness of the original pedals, but...Mmm Matching pedals - Oh Man 😃 Some serious pedal shopping lies ahead!
@andrewstehlik39173 күн бұрын
Well, those must be really enormous pedals if they measure “one hundred centimeters by about one hundred five” those would be pedals from a steamboat! 🚢 Very likely she meant milliliters - but spoke all the time about centimeters.

I am going to order some, but what I'd like to know, from someone who's already got some, is how grippy are they?
@brilliantbikes4 күн бұрын
They are relatively good, not as grippy as my Stamp MTB pedals but more grippy than the standard pedals Thanks for watching!
@lizziel48764 күн бұрын
I'd also like to add that the measurement of the folding pedal isn't really 90 but more like 80, as your foot doesn't go up to where you are measuring from, i.e. on that cylindrical bit. Otherwise a great video, which I've been waiting for!
@lizziel48764 күн бұрын
@@brilliantbikes thank you! That is helpful! If they are more grippy than the standard pedals then they must be reasonably grippy as I found the standard ones more or less OK, whereas I had expected not to like them when I got the bike. My main reason for changing them is size.

Many thanks always for great quality info. Is G line pedals made of plastic or metal?
@brilliantbikes4 күн бұрын
Many thanks for watching! Yes I’d say resin / plastic
@oxfordsculler80134 күн бұрын
G line pedals are nice and big, less likely to slip off when applying power. But, pedals in real world commuting in London are in the dirty, dog poo and wet zone from road and shoes. Not something you want to be man handling on your commute to or from work. The flip requires the minimal of touches in comparison.

I've seen this sort of comment before but I've used the standard pedals for.years covering quite a few thousand.miles.with no trouble at all. So cheap? Not in my experience. My only gripe is they don't take standard toeclips and riding without them is a real pain as my feet can slide around on the pedals. I've sorted that though and made adapter plates so I can fit them.
