STEFANO BAGLIANO a étudié avec entre autres FRANS BRUGGEN et PEDRO MEMLSDORFF en flûte à bec et avec FABRIZIO DORSI en direction d’orchestre. Gagnant de nombreux concours nationaux, il a ensuite lancé sa carrière comme concertiste. Il a joué partout en Europe, États-Unis, en Asie et en Israël. Il a travaillé avec plusieurs chefs, tels ALAIN CURTIS et RUDOLF BARSHAI. Et joué avec des artistes renommés tels que MONICA HUGGET, BOB VAN ASPEREN et VICENZO GHIELMI. Comme fondateur et chef de l’orchestre Baroque COLLEGIUM PRO MUSICA, STEFANO BAGLIANO a collaboré entre autres avec les chanteuses EMMA KIRKBY et CATHERINE KING, quelle carrière musicale extraordinaire bravo. NICOLÒ FIORENZA compositeur italien, violoncelliste à la cour napolitaine, premier violon du Royal Court Orchestra, professeur de violon et d’alto, NICOLÒ FIORENZA fait partie des compositeurs qui développèrent l’école napolitaine, aux côtés de JOHANN ADOLF HASSE {1699~1783}, où NICOLA PORPORA {1686~1768}. Naples était en effet un foyer musical parmi les plus importants en Europe, comptant plusieurs théâtres, académies, et 4 conservatoires, foyer qui donnera jour à nombre de grands compositeurs et musiciens. Tombé injustement dans l’oubli après sa mort , NICOLÒ FIORENZA a pourtant laissé quelques œuvres magnifiques, empreintes d’une forte personnalité musicale, une trentaine de compositions, parmi lesquelles des sonates pour violons, des sonates en trio, des symphonies, et quelques CONCERTI solo. L’écriture de NICOLÒ FIORENZA offre de grands moments de lyrisme, des mouvements aux rythmes fortement contrastés. GIOVANNI BATTISTA MELE, était un compositeur d’opéras napolitain actif à Madrid avec FRANCESCO CORSELLI {1705~1778} et FRANCESCO CORRADINI {vers 1700~1769}, au Nuovo Real Teatro de Buen Retiro. MELE étudia pendant environ douze ans avec GAETANO GRECO {vers 1657~1728} au POVERI DI GESU CRISTO de Naples avant de se rendre en Espagne, où il se fit un nom avec POR AMOR Y POR LEALTAD {1736}, représenté au TEATRO DE LA CRUZ à Madrid. Il obtenu à la cour de PHILIPPE V {1683~1746}, un poste renouvelé par FERDINAND VI {1713~1759}, en 1746. Suite à l’ouverture du nouveau théâtre du palais, MELE composa une « festa teatrale «, AGELICA e MEDORO, pour l’anniversaire de la reine en 1747. Il collabora pour plusieurs œuvres avec CORRADINI et CORSELLI avant de demander l’autorisation de retourner à Naples en 1752. Merci pour ses œuvres, et ce moment de musique Baroque du XVIIe siècle majestueux, avec STEFANO BAGLIANO COLLEGIUM PRO MUSICA grandiose, que j’ai beaucoup aimé bravo.

Funny you should mention pandemics because they were far more common than they are today. The 1700s was a series of short little wars, heralded and ended by two long and destructive wars. And in between them, smallpox, cholera, TB and bubonic plague continued to be mass killers. COVID itself has pretty much killed off 6 or 7 times the number of people the Marseilles plague of the 1720s must've offed during its short span - true, it depopulated the city of Marseilles but the French government's response was surprisingly effective.

There's an error in your description - the last 4 tracks are by Giovanni Battista Mele (Concerto in F), but you've written Nicolò Fiorenza as the composer for all of these.
