I have a 7' contra bass flute now (played both contra & double contra 3 times for THE Shaul Ben Meir conductor in Florida). As he guessed conducted Manila Symphony twice, bought another contra being prepared here in Asia should he contact me! Played with many MANY named celebs' bands - even Mill's Brothers Blues band but nothing is honored more than Shaul except God

The concerto by Du Puy really caught my attention. Wonderful melodies and orchestration. If I am correct Du Puy was one of the earliest romantic composers...Du Puy was composing romantic music when Chopin was in diapers. He was also somewhat of a scoundrel who may have stolen music from other composers but this flute concerto is excellent!

never put reverb or bass in baroque or classical recordings. I know now a days it may be tempting to do something like this to attract the more inadverted and casual listener. But you carefully don't do that. Even the most imperceptible reverb or bass or shining.

I personally recommend you to listen to Johann Joachim Quantz, he was Frederick II of Prussia's personal teacher, also Quantz wrote so many concertos and sonatas for flute for he is a flute master of his era.
